An influential Islamic cleric, and Aide to Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Mallam Ibrahim Khalil has resigned his appointment, independent reports
Khalil, who until his resignation on Monday, was the Special Adviser, Special Duties to the Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, commands a large followership for his liberal approach to Islam.
The Special Adviser, who is also the Chairman of Kano state Council of Ulama, in his letter of resignation, said it was with effect from November 1, 2018.
Although, the influential cleric gave no reason for his action, sources closed to him who pleaded anonymity said: “Mallam seems to be at war with his conscience over the way and manner the bribery video are been handled.
Khalil, in the letter, appreciated the Governor Ganduje for the opportunity accorded him to serve the state.
