Selena Gomez’s Ex Nick Jonas explained he was surprised when he saw the news about her kidney transplant on social media days ago.
Jonas said to SiriusXM’s Hits 1 that, “I didn’t [know]. I was just as surprised as everyone else when I woke up and saw her Instagram, but wow. That’s just incredible, and the strength she’s shown through all of that is inspiring.”
He added, “I’m pumped for her. I’m happy to see she’s doing well, it seems, and she was able to get the surgery and her friend helping her is a beautiful thing. So it’s all amazing.”
Selena Gomez revealed the news about her kidney transplant on social media days ago, she also added that her friend, Francia Raisa donated her kidney for her [Selena].
“I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health,” Selena shared on her official instagram page.
She said further that, “I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery.
“And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made.”
Commenting on the news that took most of Selena’s fans by surprise, Francia also appreciated the entertainer for always standing by her. “I am beyond grateful that God would trust me with something that not only saved a life, but changed mine in the process. This was part of our story, and we will share it soon, but what is important now is that this is not the only story.”
Selena Gomez and Nick Jonas have remained very good friends since they terminated their “puppy love” relationship in 2008 when they were both Disney Channel stars.
