Oshodi-Isolo LG Denies Rift Between Kendoo, Obasa, Condemns Alleged Incitement

Oshodi-Isolo LG Denies Rift Between Kendoo, Obasa, Condemns Alleged Incitement

The Oshodi-Isolo Local Government has dismissed as false and mischievous a viral social media video alleging a rift between its Executive Chairman, Otunba Kehinde Adeola Al-Maroof-Oloyede, popularly known as Kendoo, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.

The council, in a statement, said the video featured individuals identified as members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) loyal to Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, making inflammatory comments allegedly designed to create tension between Kendoo and Obasa.

It categorically stated that there was no disagreement whatsoever between the Oshodi-Isolo chairman and the Speaker, stressing that Kendoo holds Obasa in high esteem and respects both his person and the office he occupies.

According to the council, the video was a deliberate attempt to manufacture discord where none exists and create unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

The council further reaffirmed Kendoo’s commitment to the APC, saying his administration would support the party’s activities and candidates across Lagos State.

It specifically said Oshodi-Isolo would support APC candidates and aspirants, including Obasa’s reported aspiration to the Federal House of Representatives in Agege, as well as other party candidates contesting for the State House of Assembly and other elective positions.

The council condemned what it described as attempts to incite violence in the name of political loyalty, warning that political disagreements should be handled through dialogue and the party’s established internal mechanisms rather than threats, intimidation or mobilisation of thugs.

It also urged individuals allegedly behind the video, including those loyal to MC Oluomo, to desist from actions capable of undermining the unity of the APC.

“Those behind the video, whether loyal to Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) or otherwise, if they have grown tired of the APC, are free to leave the party. What they must not do is remain in the party while working to incite violence and undermine its unity and its leaders,” the council said.

The local government called on security agencies to investigate the video, identify those responsible and take appropriate action to prevent any breakdown of law and order.

It also appealed to APC members, transport workers and residents of Oshodi-Isolo to remain calm and disregard what it described as divisive propaganda.

The council maintained that the relationship between Kendoo and Obasa remains cordial and founded on mutual respect, insisting that no misleading video should be allowed to create the impression of a political rift between the two leaders.

It said the local government would remain focused on good governance, peace, unity and the advancement of the APC in Lagos State.
