Three members of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) who were detained for their alleged role in the arrest of Seriki Fulani Iskilu Wakili for kidnapping have been released.
The OPC members, who were arrested, charged to court and subsequent detained, were released yesterday by an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court.
They are Dauda Kazeem, Awodele Adedigba and Ramon Hassan.
They were discharged based on Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) advised.
The court had ruled that the suspects should not be charged for any offence because there is no evidence to try them.
The OPC members were arrested in March.
Oyo State Coordinator of OPC, Comrade Rotimi Oguntade, also known as Oluomo, confirmed the released.
Wakili became famous for allegedly terrorising the Ayete community and other adjourning villages in Ibarapa area of Oyo State.
