Police authorities in Lagos State have taken into custody the driver of the BRT Bus involved in the murder of 22-year-old fashion designer, Oluwabamise Ayanwole.

The driver, Andrew Nice Omininikoron, and another accomplice were arrested by DSS operatives in Ososa, Odogbolu area of Ogun State on Monday night. They were eventually handed over to the police.

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi while parading the suspect on Monday explained that following the arrest, the investigation will be expanded to bring everyone who is part of the crime to justice.

The CP assured the public and the family of the bereaved victim that justice will be served in the case.

Alabi told Channels Television that the preliminary response from the suspect has not been satisfactory, but it has been established that he is a prime suspect in the incident that led to the death of the victim.

Speaking on the allegations of sexual assault and missing body parts, the CP said police officers and family members of the victim were all at the mortuary, and there was no part of the victim’s body that was mutilated.

He added that the post-mortem process has been initiated and the result will clarify if there was any form of sexual abuse on the victim.

He warned criminals in the state to desist from evil acts or face the wrath of the law.

“No crime will go undetected, and criminals will not go unpunished. The command has strengthened its security architecture and repositioned officers and men towards providing adequate and sustainable security for all and sundry in the state. This, we are confident, will prevent future occurrence of this sad incident,” the CP explained.

Ayanwole went missing on Saturday, February 26, while returning to Ota from Ajah. She boarded a BRT bus with number 240257 going to Oshodi at about 7 p.m. at Chevron Bus-Stop.

Sadly, her body was found dumped by the roadside, and an unidentified man reportedly informed officials of Ebute Ero Police Station on Saturday evening.

‘What Is Nigeria Turning Into’ – Reactions As Diesel Sells For N625 Per Litre

Nigerians on social media have expressed displeasure over the current price of automotive gas oil, also known as diesel.
Naija News understands that the price of diesel has skyrocketed across the country with some filling stations now selling at N625 per litre.

According to TheCable, this is four percent higher than the N540/litre it sold last week — and about a 30 percent increase in the two weeks.

The development is coming amid fears that the United States and its European allies will ban imports of Russian crude.

Reacting to the development, some Nigerians lamented the hardship skyrocketed price would cause for the average Nigerian, while others blamed the government inability to make sustainable future plans.

Money Ritual: Jide Kosoko Blows Hot, Slams FG, Others Blaming Nollywood

Veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has slammed those blaming the movie industry for the increased rate of ritual killings recorded across the country.
The 68-year-old, during an interview with Channels TV, noted that it was a wrong accusation.

The veteran added that Nollywood have a responsibility to mirror the society through entertainment.

Naija News recalls that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, recently asked filmmakers to avoid making money ritual content.

He stated that the Federal Government’s decision to sanitize social media is hinged on confessions of some money ritual suspects.

Some celebrities also blamed the industry on its influence on young people, urging movie producers to tone down on ritual contents.

Responding to these developments, Kosoko said; ”It’s a wrong accusation. A very wrong accusation. People should not forget that we have a responsibility to mirror the society and this not just by …we only try to mellow it with the entertainment.

“It is our duty to let you know what happens at the other end for it to guide you, for you to be informed so that you can be able to know what and what to do.

“We have heard of politicians embezelling money here and there. Are you saying that they learnt embezzlement in our movies too? All those people displaying money here and there, at occassions, at various functions. Are we the ones that taught them that?

“In every production we would never glorify evil. Whichever movie that idiot that says he watched a movie that made him to be kidnapping, go and see that movie. What is the end of that person that kidnapped people?

“Why did he not learn from that and desist from going into the business of kidnapping rather than saying it is the movie. So it is not right. We have our own duty to mirror the society and give it as it is. One of the things we do, we get them from the public. We try as much as possible to play down on them before dishing it out.

“So it is not right. We have our own duty to mirror the society and give it as it is. One of the things we do, we get them from the public. We try as much as possible to play down on them before dishing it out.

“I agree that the country is hot now and everybody should play down on whatever that can aggravte violence, not our industry alone. Politicians should stop displaying money everywhere that entices this negative youth thinkers.”
