Wisdom: The Principal Catalyst for Breaking Evil Patterns — Dr. Chris Okafor

Wisdom: The Principal Catalyst for
Breaking Evil Patterns — Dr. Chris Okafor

…“Demonic patterns persist until someone
rises to confront and change them.”

+ Grace Nation Global also used the occasion to celebrate mothers with special prayers and thanksgiving

Understanding how to break negative cycles requires more than desire—it demands insight, discipline, and the right spiritual principles. This formed the foundation of the teaching delivered by the Generational Prophet of God and Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Worldwide, Christopher Okafor, during the Divine Intervention and Breakthrough Service held at the church’s international headquarters in Ojodu Berger, Lagos, Nigeria.

Understanding Ungodly Patterns

Preaching in the ongoing series “Patterns,” with the subtitle “Ungodly Patterns,” Dr. Okafor explained that recurring negative experiences within families are often sustained by underlying spiritual forces and long-standing practices.
According to him, covenant practices, consistent spiritual discipline, and kingdom commitment are among the channels through which individuals can break free from such patterns.
“Demonic patterns do not end on their own,” he said. “They remain until someone rises with understanding and takes responsibility to change the narrative.”
The Role of Prayer and Spiritual Discipline
The cleric emphasized that strategic and intentional prayer is central to rewriting one’s life story. He described prayer as giving God the legal ground to intervene in human affairs.
However, he cautioned that prayer without corresponding action may delay results.

“When you pray without enforcement, results may be slow,” he noted. “But when prayer is backed by commitment, sacrifice, and alignment with God’s principles, answers come swiftly, and long-standing patterns are broken.”
Breaking Curses and Negative Cycles

Dr. Okafor further described curses as spiritual forces that keep individuals trapped in repeated cycles. He stressed that breaking such patterns requires spiritual awareness, obedience to divine instruction, and alignment with godly authority.

He also highlighted the importance of honouring both biological and spiritual guidance, noting that such alignment can play a role in overcoming entrenched limitations.

“When you follow divine instruction and remain committed,” he said, “you position yourself for freedom, and what once held your family bound begins to lose its grip.”

Service Highlights
The Divine Intervention and Breakthrough Service featured moments of deliverance, healing, miracles, restoration, and testimonies from attendees who reported positive changes in their lives.

Celebration of Mothers

The service also included a special segment dedicated to celebrating mothers across Grace Nation Global.
In his remarks, Dr. Okafor described women as pillars of society and emphasized the need to honour and appreciate their sacrifices.

He prayed for all women in the ministry, declaring that they would live to enjoy the fruits of their labour and witness the fulfillment of their destinies.

“None will die before their glory manifests,” he declared. “Every woman who has laboured will reap in joy.”
He further pronounced blessings on expectant mothers, expressing faith that by the same time next year, many would return with testimonies of fulfilled desires.

MFM Refutes Ex-Pastor’s Claims, Says Church Was Never Involved in His Arrest or Jail Term

MFM Refutes Ex-Pastor’s Claims, Says Church Was Never Involved in His Arrest or Jail Ter

Fresh details have emerged concerning the case of former Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) pastor, Mr. Femi Jimoh, who recently alleged that the church and its General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, masterminded his arrest and imprisonment several years ago.

The Church, in a detailed statement signed by its Chief Legal Adviser, Mr. Davidson Adejuwon, described Jimoh’s claims as baseless, malicious, and deliberately aimed at misleading the public and discrediting the church’s leadership.

According to Mr. Adejuwon, the allegations that MFM fabricated robbery charges against Mr. Jimoh are completely untrue and without any legal or factual foundation. He explained that investigations and court records clearly showed that it was the Nigerian Police Force, acting on credible intelligence, that arrested and prosecuted Jimoh and his accomplices for attempted robbery.

“Mr. Femi Jimoh was a former worker in the Press Department of the Church who was disengaged following numerous acts of misconduct, including theft of church materials and moral lapses. Sometime after his dismissal, he conspired with others to rob the Church of its First-Fruit offerings but was apprehended by the Police before the plan was carried out,” Adejuwon stated.

Eyewitnesses and police reports from 2007–2008 corroborated this account. One of the witnesses, Mr. Fatai Adebayo, had earlier narrated how Jimoh tried to lure him into the robbery plot, describing the former pastor as the mastermind of the operation.

Further confirming the account, retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Kayode Samuel, who was then the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Yaba and Iwaya, explained that the police had received intelligence about a planned armed robbery targeting the church’s collections.

“We had spies everywhere, and we were informed that some men, led by an insider at MFM, were planning to rob the church. The insider was identified as Pastor Femi Jimoh. We decided to monitor their meetings and planted a secret camera where they gathered. They were trailed, and the operation was foiled before they could strike,” Samuel said.

He added that the arrest and prosecution were carried out strictly according to law and that neither the General Overseer nor any church official influenced the process.

The Church also pointed to the confession made by Mr. Jimoh at the time of his arrest, as reported by several national newspapers, including The Nation in 2007 and 2008. In the report, Jimoh admitted to leading a four-man gang and planning to divert church money to buy weapons.

He had told investigators that he was motivated by “financial frustration,” adding that he used his position as a pastor to gain access to the church’s funds and identify potential targets.

Despite these revelations, MFM has maintained that its approach to discipline remains rooted in love and restoration. The Church reiterated that while it does not condone sin or indiscipline, its objective remains to “win souls for Christ” and uphold the highest moral standards among its ministers and members.

The statement reads: “For over three decades, Dr. D.K. Olukoya has led the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries with integrity and deep commitment to the word of God. His focus has never shifted from evangelism, holiness, and soul-winning. Any attempt to drag his name into baseless controversies will not succeed.”

MFM further warned against the deliberate circulation of falsehood by individuals seeking attention or vengeance against the Church, emphasizing that it will take legal action against any publication or online platform that continues to propagate defamatory content.

“Our mission remains clear — to depopulate hell and populate heaven. No amount of lies or distractions can derail this divine mandate,” the Church declared.

The leadership of MFM reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, lawfulness, and collaboration with security agencies, adding that the Church has always respected due process in all matters relating to discipline or staff management.

Dr. Olukoya, described by many as a global evangelist and teacher of righteousness, continues to lead the ministry’s worldwide branches in fervent evangelism, charity, and prayer-driven outreach.

With millions of members across over 100 countries, MFM has continued to uphold its foundational values of holiness, integrity, and deliverance through the power of Jesus Christ — principles, the Church insists, stand in direct contrast to the false narrative being spread by its estranged former worker.

Hisbah arrests couple, three others over illegal marriage in Kano

The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested five youths for allegedly conducting an illegal marriage ceremony without parental consent.

The Deputy Commander General of the board, Dr Mujahideen Aminuddeen, disclosed this in a statement he issued in Kano on Monday.

He said those arrested included the groom, bride, and three others who acted as representatives and a witness.

The marriage was allegedly contracted with a dowry of ₦10,000, below the minimum threshold recognised in Islamic legal standards.

Aminuddeen said that the union violated Islamic and legal marital procedures, and the board had launched an investigation.

He appealed to parents to monitor their children’s social engagements and guide them in marriage matters.

NAHCON announces final 2026 Hajj fares, reduces cost by ₦200,000

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria has announced the approved fares for the 2026 Hajj.

In a statement signed by the management, NAHCON said the announcement followed “due consultations with all the relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership, and obtaining the approval of the Federal Government.”

The announcement comes shortly after top management staff of the Commission, led by the Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, embarked on a trip to Saudi Arabia to inspect facilities, negotiate service arrangements, and sign agreements with key service providers ahead of the 2026 exercise.

Earlier this year, NAHCON had announced a tentative fare of N8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj, clarifying that the amount was provisional and subject to review after negotiations with Saudi service providers and approval from the Federal Government.

The 2025 Hajj fares were fixed at N8.31 million for the Maiduguri-Yola Zone, N8.44 million for other northern states, and N8.76 million for the southern states.

However, the management said the 2026 fares have been reduced by N200,000 across all categories.

“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria wishes to announce the Hajj Fare for the 2026 Hajj season. After due consultations with all relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership, and obtaining the approval of the Federal Government, the Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abdullahi Sale Usman, hereby announces the 2026 Hajj Fare as follows: Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba) will pay N8,318,336.67; other Northern States will pay N8,244,813.67; Southern States will pay N8,561,013.67.”

“Compared to what was charged last year, each pilgrim is to pay an average of two hundred thousand naira less,” the statement partly read.

The Commission also revealed that its delegation currently in Saudi Arabia has finalised service arrangements with major providers.

“The NAHCON delegation, currently in Saudi Arabia, met and signed agreements with the 2026 Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem),” the Commission stated.

The Chairman stressed the importance of timely payments, urging intending pilgrims to complete payments before December 31, 2025.

Anambra gov: ADC candidate asks INEC to tackle vote buying

Candidate of the African Democratic Congress in the forthcoming Anambra governorship election, Mr John Nwosu, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to ramp up measures to curtail vote buying in the election.

Claiming that elections in the country are typically characterized by vote buying, Nwosu said a repeat of such phenomenon would taint the credibility of the forthcoming Anambra election.

Nwosu is among the 16 governorship candidates listed by INEC in a June 4, 2025 statement to participate in the November 8, 2025 election in Anambra.

His party, the ADC, will battle it out with other parties to unseat incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.

Nwosu, in a statement on Saturday, said it was baffling seeing voters openly selling their votes to party agents and other representatives around polling units on election day.

According to him, “such practices not only derail the true will of the people but also reduce elections to an auction, where the state is effectively handed over to the highest bidder.”

Nwosu urged INEC to introduce secure voting cubicles that would safeguard the legitimate rights of voters and uphold the sovereignty of democracy.

Nwosu said, “INEC must provide secure voting cubicles to ensure ballots remain private and secret. Currently, many polling areas are too exposed, allowing others to see the voting process. This not only encourages vote buying but also undermines the integrity of the elections.

“Voting must remain secret. Nigeria already has strong electoral laws which, if properly enforced, can deliver outcomes that truly benefit society.”

He held that the Anambra governorship election was another opportunity for INEC to secure the trust of Nigerians about its commitment to transparency and fairness during polls.

He also noted the role of security agencies in tackling the menace of vote buying on the day of election.

He said, “The success of any political activity depends largely on security, because security is key. While it is not solely INEC’s duty to ensure elections are properly conducted, the Commission must create an enabling environment that allows citizens to participate freely, conduct themselves properly, and exercise their right to vote.”

The ceremony concluded with Okenla pledging to “lead with empathy, integrity, and excellence” while making the Rotary Club of Lekki Golden “a force for good” in the community.

Deeper Life church rejects ₦10m compensation, wants relocation after Lagos demolition

The Deeper Life Bible Church has sought what it called a commensurate compensation for the demolition of its church building on 36 Aina St, Lawanson, Surulere, Lagos State.

The church also sought protection for its members while carrying out lawful activities on the land, pending when the demolition case would be resolved.

The spokesperson for the church, Mr Taiwo Kupolati, made this known on Friday in an interview with newsmen in Lagos.

Kupolati said that the church building was pulled down on May 27 by the Lagos State Building Control Agency.

“Our members are raising questions on the legality of the action.

“For commensurate compensation to be made, the church wants proper valuation of the property,” he said.

The spokesperson said that the church rejected a ₦10 million compensation earlier given to it by the Surulere Local Government.

“Alternatively, the church demands that it should be relocated to another land within the vicinity to enable its members to continue their worship,” he said.

He said that the church had reported the case to the acting inspector-general of police in charge of Zone Two of the Nigeria Police Force, seeking protection of its members from harassment or intimidation while worshipping on the land pending resolution of the case.

Kupolati said that as a peaceful organisation, the church chose the legal route to settle the matter.

“We were told that LASBCA acted on its own. But we know the local government had earlier indicated interest in the land,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, has said that the state government had no issues with the church and had no hand in the demolition.

“Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration has always promoted fairness. We hold Deeper Life Church in high regard. The state government did not order the demolition,” he said.

According to him, the demolition was a local government matter.

“We have begun talks with representatives of the church. The governor’s Special Adviser on Religious Matters (Christian) is engaging with them,” the commissioner said.
