Twitter Ban: ‘You Know, I’m Not, You Know’ – Presidency Struggles To Defend Buhari [VIDEO]

The Presidency has faltered in its bid to defend the decision of the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to suspend the use of social media giant, Twitter, in the country.

In an interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo on Wednesday, Buhari’s new media aide, Tolu Ogunlesi, could not defend the suspension of the messaging app.

Asked whether he was in support of the ban or not, Ogunlesi said: “Ahm well, so I, I, I, you know, I’m not, you know, the government of Nigeria has made a decision.

“You know aah.. and for me, no it’s so, I’m not sure that’s the question you should be asking me.”

Pressed to give a yes or no answer, the presidential aide said: “I think it’s a win-win actually for both twitter and the government of Nigeria.

“That’s certainly the view I get out of the um negotiations. It’s a win-win for both parties and ehm, I’m happy about that?”

Naija News recalls the federal government had in June 2021, suspended the activities of the micro-blogging site in the country over allegations that the platform was been used to undermine the sovereignty and security of Nigeria.

But during his Independence Day speech, Buhari had announced that he has given approval for the conditional lifting of the ban on Twitter operations in Nigeria.

He stated that following negotiations between the government’s technical team and officials of the micro-blogging giants and agreements on a key number of issues, he has directed the lifting of the Twitter ban and ordered the resumption of activities once agreed conditions are met.

Afenifere Speaks On Joining IPOB To Shut Down Nigeria For One Month

Yoruba socio-political organization, Afenifere has rejected the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB’s call to jointly shut down Nigeria for one month.

IPOB is reported to have threatened to direct Igbo people living in different parts of Nigeria to observe a one-month sit-at-home order if the Nigerian government failed to produce its leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in court for trial on October 21st.

The Igbo group had also urged the Middle Belt and Oduduwa Nation agitators to join its members in the demonstration.

Afenifere has, however, said it would not take part in the sit-at-home exercise as agitated by the Biafrans.

A highly placed Afenifere chieftain who reportedly spoke exclusively with DAILY POST said shutting down Nigeria is not part of its agenda. The South-Western indigene who pleaded not to be mentioned said Afeniefere should not be dragged into such a move to shut down Nigeria.

“I always show solidarity but we will never be part of shutting down Nigeria for one month.

“That is not part of our agenda; If it’s worthy for them, they can shut down the country, but they should not mention us in that kind of thing.

“We don’t want to be part of it because it is certainly not our agenda. We are not in the business of shutting down the country,” Daily Post quoted the Afenifere chieftain as saying.

Meanwhile, the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has been issued a stern warning against spreading its wings to the Northern part of the country.

Naija News reports that the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum, AYCF, issued the warning to counter the Biafra agitators’ call that the Middle Belt should join in shutting down Nigeria.

Senate Confirms Buhari’s Nominee Who ‘Started Schooling A Year Before He Was Born

Senate Confirms Buhari’s Nominee Who ‘Started Schooling A Year Before He Was Born

The Curriculum Vitae of Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad, who is among those nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Board, has shown that he started primary education a year before he was born.

Naija News recalls that Buhari had, in a letter dated September 17, 2021, asked the Senate to, in their usual expeditious manner, confirm his nominations to the positions of the Secretary and Board members of the EFCC, with Muhammad as one of them.

While presenting his committee’s report for consideration by the upper legislative chambers on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Anti Corruption and Financial Crimes, Kwari Sulieman said all the nominees met the necessary requirements to hold public office.

But Senator Hassan Hadejia (APC Jigawa), drew the attention of his colleagues to what he described as “discrepancies” in Muhammad’s credentials, pointing out that the nominee’s credentials showed that he started schooling a year before he was born.

The lawmaker said: “Let me bring to the notice of the House certain discrepancies in the report that are contradictory especially with regards to one of the nominee, Alhaji Yahaya Muhammad on page 8, where the nominee according to record started his primary school before he was born.

“There is also an overlap in the sequence of his educational experience because here, he was born on 29th September, 1969 and he started his Central Primary school in 1968.

“Then he was in Borno Teachers College from 1975 and 1988 while simultaneously he was in the College of Administration Studies from 1980 to 1981. If these are typographical errors Mr President, maybe we should have them corrected for the sake of our record.”

Nevertheless, the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, who presided over the day’s plenary, turned a blind eye to this observation, as he put Muhammad’s nomination to voice vote.

Those confirmed alongside Muhammad are George Abang Ekungu, Secretary (Cross River); Luqman Muhammed (Edo); Anumba Adaeze (Enugu) and Kola Raheem Adesina (Kwara).

HOW MRS EVELYN JOSHUA IS ALLEGEDLY RUINING T.B JOSHUA’S LEGACY WITH COHORTS

HOW MRS EVELYN JOSHUA IS ALLEGEDLY RUINING T.B JOSHUA’S LEGACY WITH COHORTS

The brouhaha rocking the late prophet T.B.Joshua led Synagogue Church of All Nations is yet from being over as more revelation from insiders revealed that Mrs. Evelyn Joshua is allegedly hell-bent on eradicating the system, principles, and legacy her late husband has built over the years.

One of the workers who pleaded anonymity revealed that the issues in Synagogue between the disciples and Mrs. Evelyn were not power tussle for leadership, but a case of a woman who is power-drunk and allegedly on a mission to destroy all the legacies her late husband left behind.

Sources admitted that after the last meeting that ended in a deadlock, the disciples actually reached out again to Mrs. Evelyn Joshua to resolve the impasse amicably but the request was turned down. And sadly, the next thing they all witnessed was the show of shame and humiliation by Mrs. Evelyn and security operatives against the disciples.

One of the major allegations levied against her aside from the fact that she was power drunk was that she was allegedly on a mission to radically change all that T.B. Joshua stands for. This informed her decision to recall all the past disciples and ex-workers who had left the ministry, Interestingly, they are the ones running SCOAN now along with her as we speak.

” let me tell you the truth, none of the disciples was considering stepping in the shoes of the late prophet except such person received such spiritual endowment that would enable him or her lead a global spiritual Church like SCOAN, but mainly interested in preserving the teachings, principles, and legacy of T.B.Joshua. Ask yourself why would her husband remove her name from the trustees if not that he doesn’t trust her? He even stated on record that she is not prepared with the responsibility of taking over the ministry”.

According to insiders, Mrs. Evelyn Joshua has been running the ministry illegally even before she got the court injunction which she claimed has empowered her to run the ministry, ” I don’t know when the court has taken over the role of CAC in appointing trustees”, the source squealed.

And information from sources alleged that two prominent clergy men, Dr SK Abiara, Bishop Stehen Ogedengbe have been her advisers and cohorts in ruining all that TB Joshua stood for. Instead of advising the woman to tow the path of peaceful reconciliation, they are rather using their influential positions to fuel the crisis, describing the Evangelists and Prophets of TB Joshua as miscreants and rebels who are out to sabotage her authority. As such, they must not be allowed back to the Church.

Also, our sources revealed to us that She and her lawyers have allegedly lured those foreign disciples who are still in her custody to sign some legal documents dissociating themselves from any legal petition against her after deceiving them that she will withdraw those false allegations filed at EFCC and Immigration Headquarters in Abuja.

Furthermore we gathered that in the last couple of days, she has repatriated no fewer than six foreign Evangelists back to their various countries and the rest including three prophets are still in her custody in the church premises because their name are on the EFCC list among those she accused if theft, fraud and money laundering.

And finally, She even allegedly threatened to further blackmail the disciples with all sorts of doctored materials as evidences against them on social media.

It would be recalled that Mrs. Evelyn has been rejected as the new leader of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) founded by the late Prophet Temitope Joshua.

According to TheNation, those against Evelyn’s emergence said the late founder expected his successor to be from among the Pastors in the Church whom he had anointed.

They claimed that the rule has been swept aside by a few members whom they alleged were building stumbling blocks against the progress of the Church.

In a statement in Akure under the auspices of Global Congress of SCOAN Members, (GCSM-) and signed by one Adedeji Opeyemi, President of GCSM, and Secretary, Mr. Brown Chimieze, the SCOAN members called on all Christians and people all over the world to help in sustaining the church from ruin.

The statement said the biggest task was to honour the last wish of Prophet TB Joshua and keep his flag flying.

“I Was Happier When I Was Poor” – Singer Akon

48-year-old Senegalese-American singer and businessman, Akon, has said he was much happier when he was poor because life is tougher for the rich than the poor.

He said this on Monday, October 4, while defending a statement he made in the wake of actor Michael K. Williams’ d*ath in September 2021. The artist had used Williams’ death as proof that the more money some makes, the more problems they accumulate.

Speaking in an interview with TMZ, he said, “Nobody can sit there and tell me, that I didn’t go through poverty. I was the young African kid, barefoot and playing soccer in the village with no electricity, no running water, I knew what that looked like – believe me, I know what poverty looks like.

But I also know what success looks like, and from my personal experience, I’m having more problems successfully dealing with all that comes with success than I had when I was poor. I was actually happier when I was poor.”
