Colonel Mamady Doumbouya of the Guinea military said in a video recorded in the capital Conakry that the National Assembly has been dissolved and the constitution suspended indefinitely.

In a viral video, ousted President, Conde was seen being shoved into a van and driven away by security operatives.

Residents had earlier disclosed that they heard about two hours of heavy gunfire across the capital, with two individuals seen with bullet wounds.

Colonel Doumbouya, in his broadcast, said all land and air routes have been shut in the interim.

He urged citizens to remain at home and await further instruction on the direction of the government.

Giving reasons for the coup, the military officer said widespread corruption and poverty has become prominent in Guinea, accusing Conde of failing to deliver on his promises.

At First I Thought It Was April Fool When Doctors Started Strike – Ngige

Labour Minister, Chris Ngige said he thought doctors in Nigeria were playing a prank when they embarked on an industrial action.

On Friday, the minister assured that the government will end the ongoing nationwide strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

Ngige spoke in Abuja at the Nigerian Health Commissioners Forum Quarterly meeting.

Ngige said the President Muhammadu Buhari administration was doing its best to cater for doctors.

He recalled that public health workers got N32 billion as special COVID-19 hazard allowance for three months in the first instance.

Ngige said state governments were advised to pay as much as they could.

Narrating how the situation degenerated, he said in September 2020, NARD issued a notice of strike while asking for Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF).

They wanted N542,000 each to cover the cost of books and journals for that particular examination, transportation and lodging for three days.

Ngige added that since the supplementary budget was being put together then, the doctors’ demand was included, fulfilled and they called off the strike.

The minister said by March 2021, they listed other things, complaining that Residency Training Fund was not in the 2021 budget.

”They also needed the hazard allowance to be upgraded and demanded that States should domesticate Residency Training Act.

“Before we could say Jack Robinson, they went on strike on April 1. I thought it was April fool until April 2 when we didn’t see them at work.

“I told them that, they didn’t give the mandatory 21 days notice to their employers who have written to me to complain.”

Ngige said the 2021 Residency Training Fund was eventually captured in the supplementary budget, disclosing that the funds are now available.

when fame got into my head and i started misbehaving, Annie Stood By Me – 2Face Defends Wife

Innocent Idibia, music star better known as Tuface, has said he married Annie, his wife, because she stood by him in trying times.

In a recent interview he had with DJ Anyaloko, Tuface recalled how Annie stood by him when he was hopping on bikes and trekking on the streets.

The father of 7 said when fame got into his head and he started misbehaving, Annie did not abandon him.

“You see Annie is from an average background like myself. We both started from nothing. She stood by me through it all. When there was no car, she hopped on bikes, took the bus, and trekked with me. When there was no money or house or hit songs or millions of albums sold or big awards and accolades, she was there.”

“When I used to repeat just 3 sets of clothes, she would always hold my head, look me in the eyes and tell me, ‘things will be fine one day’. When I wasn’t handsome, she called me her prince charming. When I wasn’t celebrated, she called me her king. She is my number one fan.

“Even when I made it big as a musician and started misbehaving and controversies almost destroyed my career, she would go down on her knees and pray to God to show me the way and give me victory over my enemies.

“Now if I am still that small boy struggling to make it like every other young chap on the streets of Lagos, do you think a doctor, a lawyer, and a multi-millionaire businesswoman would want to look at me or even have my kids? No. So to answer your question, I did not choose who had more to offer me, I chose Annie because she offered me her all when we had very little.”

BREAKING: Afghanistan Gets New President To Lead Taliban Government

It is gathered that Taliban co-founder Mullah Baradar will lead a new Afghan government set to be announced shortly, sources in the Islamist group said on Friday, as its fighters battled forces loyal to the vanquished republic in the Panjshir Valley north of Kabul.

The new government’s most immediate priority, however, should be to stave off the collapse of an economy grappling with drought and the ravages of a conflict that killed an estimated 240,000 Afghans.

Baradar, who heads the Taliban’s political office, will be joined by Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of late Taliban co-founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, in senior positions in the government, three sources said.

“All the top leaders have arrived in Kabul, where preparations are in final stages to announce the new government,” one Taliban official told Reuters, on condition of anonymity.

Haibatullah Akhunzada, the Taliban’s supreme religious leader, will focus on religious matters and governance within the framework of Islam, another Taliban source said.

The Taliban, which seized Kabul on Aug. 15 after sweeping across most of the country, have faced resistance in the Panjshir Valley, where there have been reports of heavy fighting and casualties.

Several thousand fighters of regional militias and remnants of the government’s armed forces have massed in the rugged valley under the leadership of Ahmad Massoud, the son of former
Efforts to negotiate a settlement appear to have broken down, with each side blaming the other for the failure.

While the Taliban have spoken of their desire to form a consensus government, a source close to the militant movement said the interim government now being formed would consist solely of Taliban members.

It would comprise 25 ministries, with a consultative council, or shura, of 12 Muslim scholars, the source added.

Also being planned within six to eight months is a Loya jirga, or grand assembly, bringing together elders and representatives across Afghan society to discuss a constitution and the structure of the future government, the source said.

All the sources expected the interim government’s cabinet to be finalised soon but differed over exactly when with some saying it would be settled later on Friday while others felt it would take until the middle of next week

“You are bringing up a Disney trip that happens pre-COVID because you somehow cannot totally have your way today like you used to?

“Trying to paint your husband bad publicly because he is a very private person. Is your threat tool means of gaining control? I thought you were smart abi the dealer gave you the wrong dose today?

“Asking your mum who lives in one of the rooms to add more fire to the juju pot would have been a smarter move but as God will have it, you chose today to expose yourself.

“You better finish what you started because maybe the public will help us all. Inno is dying slowly, never seen a man so unhappy in real life but we must all maintain peace that never existed from day one.

“The Idibia family never gave you peace? Please bring out all the wrongs and post them on your page. I have a lot to say and I will say it regardless.”
