Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter, Olawale Olofooro, professionally known as Brymo has been dragged online for supporting the presidential ambition of Bola Tinubu.
Brymo in a post online had claimed that the former Governor of Lagos Stats is the one with a plan for the country.

The singer further stated that he has never met the All Progressives Congress National Leader or his political affiliates, adding that critics of the APC leader should stop judging him based on old age.

The issue started online when a tweep @ambrosia_ijebu wrote, “This Jagaban (as Tinunu is also called) candidacy has truly helped me see that so many Nigerians actually don’t care about purposeful or diligent leadership.”

Brymo is his response wrote, “Yet he’s the one with a plan, we all know that. Let a city boy be president for once!.”

He added, “I’ve never met the man, or anyone who represents, or is acquainted with him, or even his relations and political affiliates – and if we stopped trying to kill them off for being old.”

The statement of the singer generated reactions online as tweeps condemned Brymo for supporting Tinubu’s 2023 ambition.

See reactions below:

@shady_killz, said, “I really do love you as an artist. However, as a human being, I do not respect your stance on this matter. How can you in good conscience believe Tinubu has a plan? No Brymo, this one broke my heart.”

@tripex111 said, “I actually use to be a fan, because I really saw you as the Fela kind, who speaks against bad people, bad government and all, but no, you only have the gift of music with no empathy for the things you preach. You’re deluded, fam and I’m hurt.”

@AfemDeluxo wrote, “How can your political takes be the opposite of your musical prowess? Chai. City boy ke, is he Pep or something?”

Brymo in response to the critics wrote, “About having a plan; You live in what town?.. I live in Lagos. Yeah! City Boy. It is like Lagos moving into Aso rock. It is guaranteed to work!

“Even if looting is rife it’ll still be the best presidency yet. On God!”

JUST IN: Wike Backs Tinubu For Presidency, Vows To Deliver South-South For APC

Following his defeat at the People Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential primaries, Rivers state Governor Nyesom Wike has resolved to throw his weight behind the Presidential ambition of former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, POLITICS NIGERIA can authoritatively report.

Wike, who emerged second in the race to clinching the party’s ticket, lost to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who polled 371 votes against the River Governor’s 237 on Saturday.

Also, former senate president Bukola Saraki came third after he garnered votes of 70 delegates while Governor Udom trailed behind him with 38 votes.

Pundits believe that Wike’s loss at the poll was as a result of the last-minute alliance between Aminu Tambuwal, Sokoto State Governor and Abubakar. The former declared support for the latter at the 11th hour.

But Wike, according to multiple sources familiar with internal workings, will not be supporting PDP as expected. Rather, he will support Tinubu, a Presidential hopeful, who stands a chance to clinch the ticket under the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Sources attributed this to the outcome of the Saturday election, noting that the Rivers state Governor is at war with fellow south-south governors, whom he believes contributed to his defeat.

“As far as I’m concerned, there is nothing to worry about. I contested that election based on the agreement with all the Southern Governors and the leaders of the South that the presidency should go to the South.

“We have done our own part. We never betrayed anybody because it is not in our blood to betray. But it is a shame to those people, some governors from the South who are the people they used to sabotage our victory. But however, we have shown them that we are not like them,” the Rivers Governor had said on Monday.

Another source explained that prior to Saturday, there is an unwritten agreement between Tinubu and Wike, which states that the latter will support the former should he lose in the primaries.

According to this source, Wike, like some Governors who have a clandestine agreement with the APC leaders, has promised to deliver South South, which is his stronghold, to Tinubu.

Also, Tinubu’s agreement with Wike is to enable him ’cause problems’ for Rotimi Amaechi, one of his contenders in the APC Presidential primaries. This is evidenced by Wike’s subliminal support for Senator Magnus Abe, who is an opponent to Amaechi and currently battling him for the structure of the APC in Rivers state.

It should be noted that Amaechi, who is currently the minister of Transportation, is an arch rival of Wike.

Some bigwigs in the Peoples Democratic Party have already got a hold of Wike’s move and have commenced resolution talks. Part of this was the visit of Abubakar at Wike’s residence on Monday.

The Ikwerre born Politician has in the past expressed praise for the Lagos Political Leader adding that he would never “say or do anything to malign the hard-earned reputation of the elder statesman.”

BREAKING: Adelabu Quits Oyo APC After Failing To Get Guber Ticket

Former Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has dumped the All Progressives Congress.

Adelabu, who had earlier described the Oyo State governorship primary poll which produced Senator Teslim Folarin as a charade, announced his exit from the APC at an emergency meeting held with his followers in Ibadan on Sunday.

He alleged that the APC in Oyo State had been hijacked and that he would make public his next political destination after consultations with his supporters across the state.

Adelabu said, “My followers have asked me to leave APC, I have left the APC.

“We will sit down with our leaders to decide on the political party to join. We will come back to APC after winning the governorship election, because we are progressives.

“It worked during the time of late Senator Abiola Ajimobi, he left Action Congress and went to All Nigeria Peoples Party and later came back to Action Congress of Nigeria.

“Just give us 48 hours to get back to you to announce the next political party to join.”

Adelabu had in an earlier statement said he would contest the 2023 governorship election. He also debunked the claim that he had joined the Social Democratic Party.

“All I can tell the whole world for now is that I am going to contest in the 2023 General elections as a Guber candidate, no matter what. This is the only reason why I left my groovy career as a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2018.

“No amount of intimidation, threat or harassment can stop me from my passionate ambition of revolutionising the political, social and economic landscape of Oyo State through machinery of government.

“As of today, I’m not a member of SDP or any other political party as being widely circulated by media organisations. Appropriate steps will be taken after consultations in due course,” he added.

2023: How Wike Reacted After Tambuwal Stepped Down To Support Atiku

Presidential aspirant and governor of Rivers state Nyesom Wike reportedly lost his spirit after Aminu Tambuwal withdrew from the presidential race to support Atiku Abubakar

According to some reports last minute intervention of some stake holders in the party worked in favor of Atiku.

At 8: 34pm, the governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal stepped down for Atiku, Legit.ng report.

Party sources said he withdrew from the race to support Atiku following the intervention of some elders who feared that should Wike pick the ticket, the ruling party would once again secure the presidential seat in 2023.

Before the commencement of the primary some Northern elders had met with Atiku, Saraki, Tambuwal and Bala Mohammed but the talks had failed as the aspirants had insisted on participating in the election.

However, the elders resumed the push at the venue of the event.

Tambuwal later gave in and withdrew from the election.

Wike’s mood changed after Tambuwal’s withdrawal

It was observed that aspirants from the South, except Udom Emmanuel, were all seated together, just as other contenders from the North were camped together.

Governors of Rivers and Benue states, Wike and Samuel Ortom respectively were seen having conversations shortly after Tambuwal announced his withdrawal from the race. Soon, another aspirant, Ayodele Fayose, also joined in.

Wike, who was cheerful before Tambuwal’s shocking announcement, frowned throughout the exercise.

The Rivers governor looked exhausted while ballot sorting was ongoing with Atiku’s name ringing in the air.

Coming second to Atiku was Wike who polled 237 votes. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, an aspirant had pulled out of the race around 5pm to support Wike.

Former Senate President Bukola Saraki came third with 70 votes; Governor Udom Emmanuel (Akwa Ibom) came fourth with 38 votes; Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), came fifth with 20 votes; former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim came sixth with 14 votes, while Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa and Diana Oliver Tariela got one vote each.
