Idumota Bloodbath: We have no Hand in the Mayhem – King Kosoko Royal Family

Though calm and what seems like normalcy has returned to Lagos Island after bloody fight erupted between miscreants of Idumota and Kosoko over what cannot be ascertain at the moment, and this has been capitalised on to spread false stories about different people mostly for political gains, one of the names being peddle are the distinguished King Kosoko Royal Family.

In a statement made available to the press, the family has come out to disassociate itself from the mayhem that has seen many dead and many more seriously wounded. In the statement jointly signed by Prince Abiola Olojo-Kosoko Oloja of Lagos (Elect) and the Head of Family of King Kosoko Royal Family: Alh Mutiat Ashabi Alli-Balogun, it reads “It is with great dismay that the King Kosoko Royal family and the Oloja of Lagos Chieftaincy Family wishes to be detached from the 19th of January 2022 Lagos Island unrest titled Idumota Vs Kosoko.

” It is of importance to state here that the King Kosoko Royal Family is not an organisation but a reputable Royal / Chieftaincy family in Lagos State and three other West African countries. And as such does not have anything to do with the 19th of January 2022 Lagos Island unrest orchestrated by some street gangs for selfish reasons,which we believe the Nigerian Police force are still investigating.

“We hereby wish to disassociate ourselves from the unrest and we shall appreciate that the general public desist from the claim that Kosoko is in anyway part of the unrest, ” the statement reads.

It is important to note that so many names has been flying as having something or the other to do about the bloody civil unrest that is now under police control since it started on Thursday and their findings will be made known to the public.

Lagos Police Command Celebrates AIG Hakeem Odumosu As He Takes A bow

On Saturday, January 22, 2022, the entire Lagos Police Command structure gathered at POWA Hall, Oduduwa Close, GRA, Ikeja to honour one of their own, Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Hakeem Odumosu.

The honour simultaneously held alongside the Command’s 2021 end of year get together.

Odumosu is the immediate past Lagos State Commissioner of Police.

He was elevated to the rank of AIG recently and decorated last Friday in Abuja by the Inspector General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba.

As Lagos Police boss, Odumosu successfully degraded crimes and criminalities in the state deploying the best of military intelligence and tactics with strict adherence to human rights as well as freedom of expression.

The event, witnessed by the National Association of Online Security Reporters, NAOSRE, had an impressive attendance. It provided the opportunity to reward hard work as the 2021 Best Commissioner of Police award was presented to the new AIG by the President, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Hajiya Hajjara Usman Alkali Baba.

He is billed to retire from the Police in few days.

Ogun Police Releases Names Of 31 Yahoo Boys, Declare War On Them (SEE FULL LIST)

Newslensng reports that the ogun state police command has released names of 31 youths involved in cyber crime fondly called ‘Yahoo Yahoo’.

In a memo obtained by this publication dated 19th of January, 2022, the full names of the suspected criminals was compiled and sign by ACP Yahaya Wakili.

This is coming after the state government declared war on cyber criminals during the launch of OP-MESA Yesterday. During the launch, Governor Dapo Abiodun revealed that Ogun state has the highest number of ‘Yahoo Yahoo boys’ and he is bent on making sure such menace comes to an end in Ogun state.

TROOPS DISLODGE IPOB/ESN STRONGHOLD AT LILU FOREST IN ANAMBRA STATE

Troops of the Nigerian Army(NA) in a joint operations conducted with other security agencies have dislodged a notorious stronghold of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN) at Lilu Forest in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Lilu is a border town between Imo and Anambra States, which was hitherto known to be used as an operational base of the dissidents.

The operations, which was conducted in the early hours of Monday 17 January 2022, led to the neutralization of some gunmen in a fire fight that ensued.

After dislodging the dissidents from their fortress, the dogged troops recovered 10 Pump Action Shotguns, two locally fabricated guns, One Revolver pistol, rounds of 7.62 mm special, live cartridges, machettes and IPOB flags. Other items recovered are mobile phones, laptops amongst other dangerous weapons.

The operation was jointly conducted by troops of 82 Division, Nigerian Navy, 211 Quick Response Group of the Nigerian Air Force, Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police. It was a well coordinated dawn attack on the fortress, where plans were been perfected to violently enforce the illegitimate sit-at-home declaration by the irredentist groups.

NIGERIAN ARMY TAKES GENDER ADVOCACY TO SOKOTO

The Nigerian Army(NA) in collaboration with British Defence Section, West Africa has taken its advocacy on Gender Mainstreaming to 8 Division Area of Responsibility, Sokoto. The workshop tagged “Gender mainstreaming for enhanced professionalism in the NA”, organised by the Department of Civil-Military Affairs will be conducted from 16 -18 January 2022.

The workshop was declared opened by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj Gen Uwem Bassey, who was represented at the event by Brigadier General Mohammed Abdullahi, Chief of Staff, Headquarters 8 Division.
The workshop, he said, seeks to build the requisite capacity of officers and men of the NA, particularly as assigned missions within the joint environment are becoming complex, increasingly expanding and dynamic in the areas of gender mainstreaming, lnternational Humanitarian Law and Fundamentals Human Rights.

The first phase of the workshop was conducted in some selected formations across the NA. The second phase has been approved with Sokoto as the focal start point.

Participants were drawn from security and para-military agencies, Civil Society Organisations, Humanitarian Agencies and other critical stakeholders.

OPERATION HADIN KAI: DECISIVE BLOW, AS TROOPS NEUTRALIZE BHT/ISWAP TERRORISTS IN BIU ATTEMPTED INFILTRATION

Troops of Sector 2 Joint Task Force(JTF) North East(NE) Operation HADIN KAI(OPHK) have dealt decisively with Boko Haram(BH) and Islamic State West Africa Province(ISWAP) terrorists, who made frantic attempt to infiltrate the ancient town of Biu, Borno State.

The criminal elements met their Waterloo, when the gallant troops of 231 Battalion and 331 Artillery Regiment swiftly routed them in a failed incursion at Maina Hari village in Biu on Saturday15 January 2022.

In the intense battle, troops unleashed superior fire power on the terrorists, neutralizing five BH/ISWAP terrorists, compelling others to withdraw in disarray..

The gallant troops also captured from the terrorists, one gun truck, one Deshka M Anti Aircraft Gun, one HK 21 Machine Gun, one Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb, 137 rounds of 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft Rounds amongst others. Troops are currently in pursuit of the fleeing terrorists.

TROOPS OF OPERATION SAFE HAVEN RESCUE THREE KIDNAPPED STUDENTS OF PLATEAU STATE POLYTECHNIC

Three students of Plateau State Polytechnic kidnapped yesterday Wednesday 12 January 2022 have been rescued
unhammed by troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN deployed at Barikin Ladi.
The trooos deployed at Nding Sesut a remote community in Barikin Ladi noticed an unusual movement of persons during patrols. Troops immediately conducted cordon and search in the general area that led to rescue of the three students at an abandoned poultry farm. The victims have since been united with their families.
Manhunt to apprehend the suspects is still on going.

While commending the vigilance and efforts of the troops, the commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General Ibrahim Ali has commended the law abiding citizens who provided credible information to the security agencies.
He reiterated his resolve to make Plateau state a difficult terrain for criminals to operate.

Marwa Applauds NAOSRE As Operatives Nab Skit Maker, Others In Lagos Raids

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa, ret’d, has applauded the supportive role of the National Association of Online Security Reporters, NAOSRE to his administration in the year 2021.

Speaking during an interactive session with NAOSRE President, Comrade Femi Oyewale Wednesday afternoon, Marwa noted with satisfaction that NAOSRE has been an integral part of the agency’s struggle to exterminate the activities of illicit drug agents.

“With NAOSRE, there has never been a dull moment. We appreciate the leaders and members for their patriotic supports of our activities in NDLEA,” he stated.

However, Marwa who spoke through his director of publicity, Mr. Femi Babafemi sought further co-operation in the year 2022.

He stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s commitment to make Nigeria a choice country to foreign investors can only be actualized when the media plays its noble role and key into NDLEA’s fight against illicit drugs and its peddlers.

He emphasized that NDLEA’s struggle to reduce the demand and supply of illicit drugs across the length and breadth of Nigeria is a task for all patriotic Nigerians including the media.

Earlier, the NAOSRE President commended the efforts of the agency. He urged Marwa and his men to deploy more technologies in its operations.

In his overview, Oyewale projected a positive outlook in the year 2022. He reassured NAOSRE’s continuous support to security agencies so that the critical objective of a safer Nigeria can be achieved.

Meanwhile, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in the early hours of Wednesday, January 12, arrested a skit maker, Sunday Joshua, popularly known on social media as De-General, following the raid of a notorious drug joint at Orchid Estate, Lekki area of Lagos state.

Acting on credible intelligence, narcotic officers stormed the drug joint in the estate, where three suspects were arrested with illicit drugs including 200 sachets of 225mg Tramadol and 1.5kilograms of cannabis Sativa. In the course of the operation, some persons including the suspected dealer ran away with bags suspected to contain exhibits.

A trail showed they ran into a house located at 2B Saula Akinlolu way, Orchid estate, which is the residence of 22-year-old Sunday Joshua (aka De General). The young men started to make noise to prevent a search. The operatives introduced themselves as officers of NDLEA and submitted themselves for search before entry. This was done and a search was conducted.

The search led to the recovery of drug exhibits including cannabis sativa; Tramadol 225mg, and some paraphernalia for drug use. This was after the suspect had requested to record on video the search, which the officers out of sense of civility allowed. The video trending on social media was the moment the suspect and his friends decided to disrupt the bid to conduct a search of the house.

In his confessional statement in custody, the suspect admitted ownership of the drugs recovered from his house.

The concert which is in commemoration of the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration will no doubt boost the morale of the troops towards suppressing enemies of our dear Nation.

Our Soldiers are not Involved in Gold Mining – Army

The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to an online publication by Daily Nigeria.com of 9th January 2022, alleging that 2 soldiers and 7 illegal miners were killed during a gun duel, arising from a disagreement over gold nuggets in Magama village in Jibia LGA of Katsina State.
According to the publication, the incident occurred when the soldiers turned down an initially agreed offer of 500,000 naira per pit from the miners, but afterwards, turned around to demand more money on discovering the large quantum of gold nuggets found by the illegal miners in one of the pits.

The Nigerian Army wishes to unequivocally state that this story is baseless, unfounded, untrue and a mere figment of the writer’s imagination, aimed at tarnishing the reputation of the Nigerian Army, as no Nigerian soldier was killed, nor involved in any skirmish with illegal miners in Magama village on 5 January 2022.

Contrary to the insinuations peddled by the online medium, Nigerian Army troops deployed in the North West are committed and engrossed in the fight against banditry and other criminalities bedeviling that region. They are not permitted to participate in any form of mining, whether legitimate or illegitimate.

Aside orchestrating disrepute, Fake News as this, have the potential to dampen the morale of the fighting troops, erode their fighting will and undermine the entire operations. This is certainly not what the troops require at this critical time.

The general public are therefore urged to disregard the fake news as it is concocted to denigrate Nigerian Army troops, who are working tirelessly to ensure sanity and peace return to the North west region. We assure the general public of the unrelenting commitment of our troops to decisively tackle the banditry menace in the North West.
