‘Buhari Will Retire To Prison, Not To Duara  – Reno Omokri Blows Hot Over EndSARS Panel Report

A former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has called Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari names. This comes after the Lagos panel report indicted the Nigerian Army and Police on the Lekki Massacre.

He wrote; “When I called Buhari an oloriburuku, some people said I was being rude to the President. Do you know what oloriburuku means? A person with a wicked and useless head. Where is the lie? Go and read the Lagos #EndSARS panel report to see how he wasted human lives during #LekkiMassacre

Recall that the Federal Government through the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed, had consistently denied reports of a massacre at the toll gate.
However, the Panel in its report submitted on Monday disclosed that not less than eleven people were killed at the Lekki tollgate on October 20, 2020.

The panel in the report titled, ‘Report of Lekki Incident Investigation Of 20th October 2020’, noted at least 48 protesters were either shot dead, injured with bullet wounds or assaulted by soldiers.

He had earlier said he will make sure that Buhari ends up in prison.

Read his words below; “Can everybody who doubted and insulted me when I said that the Satellite Sentinel Project was able to prove that the Nigerian Army, under the DIRECT command of Buratai and Buhari, killed innocent, peaceful, and unarmed protesters during the #EndSARS #LekkiMassacre now apologise to me? Go back and watch or listen to my video on the very day the massacre occurred. The Lagos State Panel on SARS has vindicated me. Muhammadu Buhari, as long as I am alive, you will retire to prison, not to Daura. Cowardly man like you that only has balls when you have a gun. Murderer. Olodo without WAEC! May God punish you and Buratai”

PDP Rendered Homeless In Lagos State As Landlord Evicts Party Over Unpaid Rent

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been evicted from the property which houses the party’s secretariat in Lagos State over unpaid rent.

It was learnt that the landlord of the property located at 56A Adekunle Fajuyi Road, GRA, Lagos claimed the party is owning rent running into several millions of naira.

However, in its immediate reaction, the Lagos PDP has described the development as sad and a grand plan to embarrass them.

The party in a statement through its state publicity secretary, Taofik Gani claimed they just recently paid N8m with an agreement to settle the balance soon.

The statement added that they are unaware of the court process ordering their eviction, and vowed to take up the matter legally saying its all part of attempts to destabilize the PDP in Lagos.

He said, “To the best of my knowledge, I know there were demands for outstanding rent and infact some payments made with balance to be paid soonest, but not aware of any court process to evict at all.

“This must not be a ‘kangaroo’ process aided to embarrass and destabilize the main opposition in the state.

“All sensitive documents of the party must have been destroyed or deliberately taken away to break our strategies towards 2023. This is Vendetta.

“We shall put in all legal efforts to get justice.”

Meanwhile, a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Victor Umeh has called out the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2021 Anambra governorship election, Senator Andy Uba, telling him to bury his thought of going to court to challenge the outcome of the election.

Umeh said the people of Anambra State have openly chosen the leader they want based on the outcome of the November 6 election which produced Charles Soludo of APGA.

The APGA chieftain further chided Umeh over his threat to challenge the election result in court by telling the APC candidate that ‘Anambra is not Imo’ where a candidate who came fourth at the polls eventually became the State Governor through a court order.

He mocked Uba, reminding him that he didn’t win any of the 21 local government areas in the state, hence his claim of a ‘stolen’ mandate is not sensible.

LekkiTollGate Shooting: Shehu Sani Reacts To #EndSARS Panel Findings

Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the findings and conclusion of the Lagos State judicial panel on police brutality cases and the shooting of protesters at Lekki toll gate.

Naija News had reported earlier that the panel Chairperson, Justice Doris Okuwobi (rtd) delivered two reports to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the State Secretariat in Ikeja on Monday.

Sanwo-Olu had stated, after receiving the report, that it will be submitted to the National Economic Council (NEC), chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Naija News understands that the Lagos #EndSARS panel in its reports indicted the Nigeria Police Force in the October 20, 2020 incidents that caused a commotion in the country.

In the report titled, ‘Report Of Lekki Incident Investigation of 20th October 2020’, the panel claimed that the police officers who were at the tollgate physically assault unarmed protesters.

The panel’s report added that the assault of Nigerian youths at the Lekki toll gate led to injuries and deaths.

The panel also accused the police of attempted cover-up of the shooting of protesters at Lekki tollgate by picking up bullets at the scene of the incident.

Reacting to the outcome of the panel that has received commendations from citizens, Shehu Sani in a post on his Twitter account, said those that have been in denial of the Lekki massacre can now bury their shame.

He said they should accept the fact that they tried all possible means to cover up the truth of the incidents.

The former lawmaker tweeted: “The doubters and deniers of the #LekkiMassacre should simply and humbly step out of their bubble of falsehood and accept the fact that they attempted to cover up corpses with Roses.”

Sani wrote in another post: “It’s like People are holding Cutlasses and sticks and looking for those who denied Lekki Massacre”

METAL ELECTROCUTES LADY IN OBI CUBANA’S CLUB, POLICE ORDER AUTOPSY

A lady, identified simply as Susan, has been electrocuted at the Hustle and Bustle club in the Aminu Kano Crescent area of Wuse, Abuja. Hustle and Bustle is a club and restaurant co-owned by a popular socialite, Obi Cubana.

It was gathered that the victim, who went to the club on Saturday, was allegedly electrocuted by a metal on the floor of the clubhouse.

The victim brother’s friend, who narrated the incident on his Twitter page @KhalidOshoke, accused the management of the club of not accompanying Susan to the hospital or reporting the incident to the police.

He tweeted, “My friend called me to tell me that his sister died at Hustle and Bustle early this morning. I quickly drove to the premises and I met my friend, friends of the deceased and employees of the Hustle and Bustle at the venue.

“My friend and his people have been at Hustle and Bustle since morning demanding CCTV footage so at least we can know the events that led to her demise. The most astonishing aspect of all this is the fact that the employees keep saying that the manager is the only one with access to the footage and the manager is sleeping.

“My friend’s sister died on the premises and the manager is sleeping; we are still here waiting for him to wake up from his beauty sleep.”

The Twitter user, who later tweeted that the family had been given access to the CCTV footage, noted that the matter had been reported to the police.

“Manager is finally here and we’ve seen the footage and she was obviously electrocuted by one of the metals on the floor.

“We’re all gathered at the police station and the management of Hustle and Bustle sent their facility manager to represent them. Not only did they not report the case, they didn’t accompany the deceased who died on their premises to the hospital. It took the manager seven hours to respond,” he wrote.

Following the post, Nigerians urged the victim’s family to sue the club and called on the government to close the facility.

An Instagram user, @kienidarling, while reacting on Instablog9ja, faulted the club management for not keeping the facility safe for the public.

She said, “Occupiers liability. Simple sue hustle and bustle. They are expected to keep their premises in such a way as not to cause harm or injury to their visitors.”

Another user, @gatsegwasi, said, “What sort of negligence and I don’t care attitude is this? Management has to face the law. This is really heartbreaking.”

An Instagram user, @abiodundabiri, said, “Clearly, she died from the negligent behaviour of their staff which resulted in electrocution. They have a responsibility to protect the life and property of all those who visit their establishment.

However, the management of the club, in a statement posted on its Instagram page on Monday, announced the closure of the facility till further notice.

The statement read in part, “We’re closed till further notice. This is due to the loss of our esteemed client. We are deeply saddened by this situation and need time to heal from it.

“Our prayers are with the families of the lost soul; may her soul rest in peace. We sympathise with the family on this unbearable loss.”

The FCT police spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, said investigation was ongoing, adding that the police would conduct an autopsy on the corpse.

She said, “The case was reported to the police. This is a case of sudden and unnatural death, which investigation is going on. We are going to carry out an autopsy to determine the cause of death. I cannot tell you the cause of the death now until the investigation and autopsy are completed.”

FG Denies Abandoning Late Itunu In Cote d’Ivoire Prison, Demands Autospy

The Nigerian Government has denied abandoning one Itunu Babalola from Oyo State to die in a prison in Cote d’Ivoire.

It also called for full investigation into the circumstances leading to her death.

Reports of her demise went viral on Monday and Nigerians took to Twitter to vent their anger on the federal government over alleged negligence.

The Chairman Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, said the government followed up on the case even though she was convicted and sentenced by the host country’s judiciary

Dabiri-Erewa’s reaction was contained in a statement issued by the Commission’s Head of Media, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.

She said that even when Babalola contracted an illness, it was Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in the country that paid for her medical bills, aside making part payment to a lawyer to appeal her conviction.

“The staff of the Nigeria mission had also visited Itunu in prison, a distance of over four hours from Abidjan.

“While the appeal case was on , Itunu was said to have complications from diabetes and was rushed to the hospital.

“The fees for the treatment was paid by the Nigerian mission through the lawyer whose services were engaged by the mission; unfortunately, she died suddenly after a few days of admission at the Hospital.

“The Federal government of Nigeria has demanded for full autopsy on the sudden and mysterious death of Ìtùnú Babalola, a Nigerian, sentenced to 20 years imprisonment in Côte Divoire for alleged human trafficking.

“Her death, will however, not stop the appeal in court in order to vindicate her of the charges against her,” NIDCOM had stated.

THE WHISTLER reported that the NIDCOM in conjunction with the Nigeria Mission in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, had on March 19, 2021 confirmed that Babalola from Oyo State was wrongfully held in a prison in that country after she was said to have reported a theft incident at her apartment to the country’s police in 2019.

Foreign Rice Sold In Nigerian Market Not Good For Human Consumption–Finance Minister

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, has claimed that the foreign rice smuggled into the Nigerian market is not good for human consumption.

Ahmad made the claim during a recent interview monitored by THE WHISTLER.

The minister while commenting on the gains of the Anchor Borrowers Programme which has gulped over N554.61bn also said Nigeria has become self sufficient in rice production.

Ahmed said, “We forget that we were importing rice into the country using foreign exchange that could be used for other things to import rice.

“So, the major benefit of the Anchored Borrowers Programme is that we are now actually all feeding ourselves with Nigerian rice and that is a huge achievement.

“We have become self-sufficient in rice production, we have also reached our target in maize production. We are still lagging behind in wheat production.

“Price of rice, which is the major staple consumed in the country, has been high. A bag sells for as high as N30,000.

“Unfortunately there’s a lot of distortion and the distortion is arising from smuggling of goods into the country, we have unpatriotic Nigerians that will bring rice that is poor quality, some of it not even fit for human consumption and come and dump it into the market making it problematic for the millers that are processing rice in the country to sell their own healthy high quality rice.

“In some cases, smugglers are even getting the rice for free, they rebag it and they bring it and sell it at a very low price making it problematic for the made in Nigeria rice.”

She said Nigerians have to understand that the imported rice is “rice that is classified not fit for human consumption in some countries and we have people that are unpatriotic enough to get it, bring it into our country and sell it for consumption.”

The minister said the market distortion does not mean that the commodity is not sufficient in the market.

She said “We don’t want a situation where we are subsidizing food, because we don’t want to create another subsidy. We are already battling with fuel subsidies. We are trying to exit it and it is a big problem.

“What we are doing is subsiding, encouraging and supporting the production of fertilizer. The Ministry of Agriculture is working towards bringing quality inputs and also they have research institutions that are developing quality inputs.

“Once we get the price of the input right, the price of fertilizer right, then it will reduce the high cost.”

Breaking: APC sacks publicity secretary for congratulating Soludo

The Anambra State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has sacked its public secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife over alleged anti party activities, including congratulating the winner of the just concluded governorship election, Professor Charles Soludo.

The state chairman of the party, Mr. Basil Ejidike stated this at a press briefing in Awka. He said that Okelo was suspended in June this year and therefore has no reason to be parading himself as an official of APC.

But the embattled publicity secretary said the chairman is on his own, adding that he has been performing his duties as the spokesman of the party.

According to the party chairman, Okelo has continued to parade himself to the public as publicity secretary to the extent that he appeared on a national television to congratulate Prof Chukwuma Soludo as the winner of the governorship election when the party hierarchy was still studying the outcome of the exercise.

He recalled that Okelo did not challenge his suspension after a panel found him guilty.

Ejidike said: ” kelo was suspended in June this year. Someone who was suspended from the party went on air claiming to be making statements on behalf of the party and we feel disturbed. We feel that such a situation should not be allowed.

“If you are not with the party, you are not with it. You cannot be out of the party and still be speaking for the party.

“Since June 2021, Okelo has been raining abuses on APC and its leadership and to put the records straight, he has not been attending meetings and activities of the party.

“His suspension followed his indictment over his involvement in anti party activities.

“He has since then been replaced by the state assistant publicity secretary, Mr. Nonso Chinwuba in line with the constitution of the party.

“The party therefore enjoins the general public and the media in particular to desist from dealing with him as agent of APC. As it stands, Okelo Madukaife does not belong to APC.

On behalf of APC, I want to state that the statements credited to the suspended publicity secretary, Mr. Okelo Madukaife were not the position of the APC in Anambra State.

“We wish to state categorically that as far as the Anambra Governorship poll is concerned we have not congratulated anybody as the party is still studying the situation with a view to approaching the court to challenge the poll”.

Reminded the the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige and Director General of the National Inland Waterways Authority, NIWA, Chief George Moghalu who are chieftains of the APC in state had already congratulated Soludo, Ejidike said they did that as individuals and not as officials of the party.

When contacted on the telephone, Madukaife said he remained the state’s publicity secretary.

He said: “I am still doing my work very effectively; discharging my duties as the publicity secretary of the party in the state.

“Our party cannot be sold to anybody. Our position that there were no governorship primaries in Anambra as stated by our chapter remains firm, fixed and unshakable. It’s the truth registered in the minds of all members of APC in the state.

“Ejidike is on his own. The whole chapter has discovered that he is a sellout; We have been managing him for the sake of our own image”.

Newly Appointed MD Of First Bank Holdings, Nnamdi Okonkwo Lands In EFCC Net

Nnamdi Okonkwo, the newly appointed Managing Director of First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) Holdings Plc, has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

According to Premium Times, Okonkwo is being questioned over his role in the transfer of $153.3 million from the Nigerian National Petroleum Commission (NNPC) in favour of Diezani Alison-Madueke, Nigeria’s former petroleum minister.

A source said that the banker, who was managing director of Fidelity Bank at the time of the incident, has remained in EFCC custody for at least three days, and it was unclear when he would be allowed to go home.

The EFCC had on April 28, 2016, detained Okonkwo over the same matter and later slammed a 14-count charge, including money laundering, on him. The status of the case is unclear as of the time of filing this report on Sunday morning.

It is also unclear if there are fresh evidences against the banker which has now necessitated a fresh round of investigation. EFCC officials contacted declined to provide details.

The board of FBN Holdings Plc had on October 28 appointed Mr Okonkwo the new GMD of the company with effect from January 1, 2022. He will succeed U.K. Eke, who will step down on December 31, according to the company’s note to the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

The board decision came five days after the chairman of Geregu Power Plc, Femi Otedola, declared his 5.07 per cent stake in the group, making him a substantial shareholder.
