Gulder Ultimate Search: 12 contestants Set To Be Unveiled Today
Contestants for the Gulder Ultimate Search ₦50 million prize will be unveiled at a selection party in Lagos on Sunday.
Twenty candidates advanced to the final selection stage of GUS 12 – ‘The Age of Craftsmanship’ after a series of regional screenings in Abuja, Enugu and Lagos and Sea School screening in Lagos.
The reality show, which borders on the survival instinct of contestants, hit the airwaves in 2004 and ran for 11 seasons before going off-air in 2014.
The contestants will be in the jungle to struggle against themselves and nature in their search for the hidden treasure that brings instant fame and fortune to the last person standing.
“The winner will take home a total prize worth over ₦50 million which includes N20 million naira in cash, a brand new SUV and other mouth-watering prizes while the other 17 will also be rewarded with various cash prizes, ”Morgan said.
GUS 12 will air on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv channel 151), Africa Magic Urban (DStv channel 153) and Africa Magic Family (DStv channel 154 & GOtv channel 2) on Saturdays and Sundays from 8 pm till 9 pm.

During the game, the player has a set of lifelines that they may use only once to help them with a question, as well as two “safety nets”. These lifelines are: ’50/50′, where the computer eliminates two random wrong options, leaving the right option and the other remaining wrong option; ‘Phone a Friend’, where the contestant has 30 seconds to call one of their friends, read the question and four possible options to the friend, who then has the remaining time to offer input; and ‘Ask the Audience’, where audience members use touchpads to designate what they believe the correct option to be and the percentage of the audience choosing each specific option is displayed to the contestant.

Tonto Dikeh’s Ex-boyfriend, Prince Kpokpogri has once again accused the actress over her gift to him during his birthday.
In an instagram post, Prince made it known that Tonto Dikeh gave him a refurbished Toyota Hilux vehicle with no single documents to prove that it was bought or he owns it.
He explained that he rejected the gift but had to accept it and park it in his house after some people intervened.
Also in the post, he alleged that he broke up with Tonto Dikeh because she smokes a lot.
Blackface: I’ve Not Received Any Music Award, Nigeria media ruined my career
Ahmedu Obiabo, Nigerian singer better known as Blackface, says he has not received any music award in his career despite his efforts.
The musician spoke in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo wherein he reflected on his career struggles and determination to brace the odds.
Blackface said he has largely been unsuccessful in the music landscape because his efforts are not recognised as they should.
He also took a swipe at the media for “bringing his brand to zero” with several narratives.
The singer, however, said he remains unperturbed by the perceived hostility from some quarters, adding that such will not stop him from producing music.
“I came into music to make music for the fans. I did not come into music because I wanted to get rich. I am yet to get any award since I became a singer. Why? Because I am the one they don’t want to rate,” he said.
“I haven’t been successful in the music industry. The media has succeeded in bringing the brand Blackface Naija to ground zero. I am the one they don’t want to talk about. But as long as the people embrace my music, the who cares?”
Blackface also dismissed claim that he is jealous of 2Baba, his former colleague, saying he has no problem with him.
“Someone should tell the reason I should be jealous of 2Baba. He (2Baba) has always been the favourite, everyone likes him even when we were growing up. But I have heard people said I have problem with him. I don’t have a problem with him,” he added.

It’s apparently not a good time for popular musician Davido especially with the web of deaths around him in the past few years.
The singer has been in the eye of the storm due to the trail of deaths involving his crew members and close associates.
Many fans are worried over the psychological and mental state of the Jowo coroner.
Some others called on the public to pray for the singer as he could be going through a lot especially with the series of ugly trend around him.
The singer has lost a handful of friends in the space of four yearsband at different times mourned the demise of his associates on social media platforms.
Davido has also been watchful. On June 6, 2021, a video showing a pastor prophesying that Davido would be poisoned by a friend went viral on the Internet.
The cleric had said: “I am telling you about one singer called Davido. They will poison him. I don’t know him. I’ve never seen him in my life.

“I’ve been dealing with it in prayers but the Lord says it will happen. And the person that will poison him is sleeping in his house.
“Somebody give the Lord a clap offering. Did he die? I didn’t see him die, but he will lose something in his body that will handicap him.”
In an apparent reaction to the prophecy, Davido tweeted, “God will expose and deal with any wickedness around me near and far. Amen. I’m blessed.”
Here is a list of crew members who have died in four years:
1. Fortunate Ateumunname Peter, popularly known as Fortune, was the Davido Music World (DMW) chief official photographer. He died in September 2021.
The photographer is the fifth member of Davido’s crew to pass away in four years in a controversial circumstance.
2. Uthman, also known as Obama DMW, died in June 2021. He was said to have complained of breathing difficulty.
3. Tagbo Umeike, died in his car parked in front of Lagos Island General Hospital.
He died on his birthday in 2017 after it was reported that he downed shots of tequila.
4. Olu Abiodun, also known as DJ Olu also died in 2017.
He was found dead with one Chime Amaechi on Saturday in a BMW car in a garage on Block B, Banana Island, Lagos
5. Tijani Olamilekan, aka Teejay, who has been the singer’s personal bodyguard for 11 years, also died after a brief illness in December 2020.
Months after Obama DMW death, Davido loses photographer, Fortune
Nigerian music superstar, Davido’s official photographer, Fortune is dead, according to reports.
This is happening months after the death of his friend, Obama DMW.
The photographer worked with a number of high-profile Nigerian celebrities, but his work with the ‘Fall’ singer catapulted him into the spotlight and made people paid attention to his craft.
The cause of his death is still not confirmed, however It was gathered that he drowned at a location in Lekki.
Top Nollywood Stars leads Protest Against Radisson Blu Hotel Over Failure To Pay For Intellectual property
A number of Nollywood stars carried out a peaceful protest at the Radisson Blu Hotel situated on Isaac John Street, Ikeja, GRA.
Jide Kosoko, Fred Amata, Yemi Solade, Mahmood Alli-Balogun, Grace Amah, Ejike Asiegbu, Sunny McDon as well as movie producers and directors were seen protesting over the hotel’s alleged refusal to pay for use of their intellectual properties in their different branches.
The protest was organised by the Audio-visual Rights Society (AVRS).
AVRS boss, Alli-Balogun, said the hospitality outfit has refused to pay for use of their intellectual properties.
He added that negotiations with the management of the hotel has met brick walls, The Nation reports.
Alli-Balogun also alleged that the hotel is owing the copyright collective society about N50 million.
Why Hushpuppi’s Account Is Still Active – Instagram Reveals
The social media platform, Instagram has revealed why the account of confessed internet fraudster, Ramon Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi is still active.
The platform noted that Hushpuppi is free to use his account in as much he does not represent dangerous organizations or individuals.
Hushpuppi is currently in detention in the United States for financial offences bordering on wire fraud, to which he has pleaded guilty.
The Instagram celebrity if found guilty may face a 20-year jail term.
The United States Attorney’s Office at the Central District of California disclosed that the confessed fraudster will be sentenced in late October 2021.
The court also disclosed that it directed the FBI to arrest the suspended deputy commissioner of police, Abba Kyari following his alleged role in a $1m scam allegedly perpetrated by Hushpuppi and five others.
The court said, “A U.S. Magistrate Judge has issued arrest warrants for the defendants in the case, including Mr Kyari. This is a standard operating procedure in nearly all of the criminal cases filed by this office.”
The social media platform disclosed that it has an established process with law enforcement and a policy on “inmate takedown requests” in place for prisoners active on the platform.
Meanwhile, Abbas has not posted on Instagram which had 2.5 million followers since June 2020, however, his followers marked his 39th birthday on September 4.
Instagram added that Hushpuppi would be free to continue to use his account, “unless directed otherwise from law enforcement in the US, where he is awaiting sentencing.”
The platform noted that Hushpuppi does not fall under the categories which would validate account removal.
Instagram said accounts are only usually closed if they represent dangerous organizations or individuals.
The Instagram celebrity is known for using his account to share photos of extravagant shopping trips, luxury cars, clothes and watches.

Legendary Nigerian musician, songwriter and producer, Innocent Ujah Idibia better known as 2face Idibia has taken to his social media to share a loved photo with his wife, Annie to mark his 46th birthday.
The singer who’s turned 46 years today also apologized publicly to his wife, Annie revealing that he’s not perfect and working to become a better version of himself.
