UBA REWARDS 100 MORE CUSTOMERS WITH N100,000 EACH IN FRESH BUMPER DRAW

Pan African Financial institution, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has rewarded another set of 100 loyal customers with a total of N10m in the UBA Bumper account draw. The 100 customers won N100,000 each in this month’s edition of the draw which began in January 2020.

The virtual and transparent draw which was held at the UBA Head Office in Lagos on Wednesday, was transmitted live via the Facebook platform in strict compliance with social distancing rules as directed by the Federal and Lagos State Government.

Just like the previous draw held in May, lucky winners, who were contacted via their mobile phone numbers were overjoyed as they emerged the latest winners of N100,000 each. While expressing gratitude to the bank, they said the winnings will go a long way in meeting their pressing needs especially in these trying times, when the Covid-19 pandemic has made most businesses vulnerable.

UBA’s Group Head, Consumer and Retail Banking, Jude Anele, who congratulated the lucky winners, said they were rewarded for their loyalty to the bank. He also noted that the bank is dedicated to supporting customers and remains passionate about their success and overall growth.

He said, “I will like to reiterate that UBA is always happy to reward and support customers. There is no better time to give back and delight customers than this challenging economic period where people need all the support they can get to make life more meaningful. With this in mind we decided to prioritize them as we always like to do at UBA by giving them ample reason to be joyful.

Continuing, Anele said, “Our key objective is to encourage our customers save regularly. We are here to support them likewise encourage them save and ultimately grow as well, because we are aware that they are invaluable to all that we do”.

UBA’s Group Head Marketing & Customer Experience, Michelle Nwoga, who explained that the main purpose of the UBA Bumper Account is to ensure that Nigerians fully embrace the savings culture; noted that the monthly, quarterly and targeted draws will also go a long way to assist customers through these turbulent times, by providing them with funds that will help ease the difficulties occasioned by the pandemic.

Explaining the modalities for the draw, Nwoga said that all new and existing customers need do to qualify for the draw is to ensure that they have a minimum deposit of N5,000 in their UBA Bumper Account. Current UBA customers are to dial *919*20*1# to migrate to the UBA Bumper Account whilst potential customers should dial *919*20# if interested in opening a UBA Bumper Account.

She also added that for the bumper account a monthly shopping allowance of N100,000 for a year is also up for grabs. “No fewer than five account holders will get a whopping N2 million each across all participating regions every quarter.

Speaking further, Nwoga disclosed that UBA is constantly working on best ways to serve the interest of customers by making their lives easier, “This is why as a bank, we continue to invest in cutting edge technology that guarantees ease as is evident in our recent mobile app upgrade which offers a more interactive, user friendly interface that makes available a myriad of opportunities from the comfort of customers’ homes,” Nwoga stated.

She explained that the new mobile app will now prompt users to use their device enabled biometrics, adding that the menu has been reduced and divided into sub-menus to enable users view Transaction History, Net worth, Trends amongst others at a glance.

Olugbo Visits Jimoh Ibrahim, inspects ongoing construction at his Fortune University

His Imperial Majesty, Paramount ruler and prescribed authority, Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Frederick Enitiolorunda Obateru Akinruntan, CON, paid a scheduled visit to billionaire business mogul and politician, Barr. COVID-19: PepsiCo, FoodClique to Give One Million Meals to the Vulnerable

PepsiCo Nigeria has unveiled its one million meals initiative hashtag #GiveMealsGiveHope to feed vulnerable communities amidst the COVID-19 crisis. Enabled by the PepsiCo Foundation, the meals will be packaged and distributed by FoodClique Support Initiative, an NGO with proven reputation in fighting hunger, identifying the most vulnerable communities through their volunteer network and working with community leaders.

Celestial Church Donates N25 million to Curb COVID-19

While presenting the donation at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, spokesman for the church’s delegation Superior Evangelist Bola Akinterinwa lauded the efforts of the government at combating the deadly scourge especially as regards the provision of medical facilities and palliatives for the citizens of Ogun State in particular and Nigeria in general. He assured the Government of the continued support of the Pastor and the entire congregation of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide and seized the opportunity to inform the Governor of Ogun State of the church’s plan to commence the construction of a world-class university in the Celestial City, Imeko, Ogun State before the year runs out. W.H.O. DG Confirms Prophet T.B. Joshua’s Prophesy on COVID-19

The Director General of the World Health Organisation, Dr Tedros Ghebreysus, has declared the coronavirus outbreak is “time for humility”, echoing the 2020 prophecy of Nigerian cleric TB Joshua.

On Monday 18th May 2020, Ghebreyesus, whilst addressing world leaders who had gathered for the first virtual session of the World Health Assembly amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, announced, “If this virus is teaching us anything, it’s humility. Time for humility.”

The former Ethiopian Minister of Health conceded, “For all the economic, military and technological might of nations, we have been humbled by this very small microbe.”

The Director General’s assertion corroborates with the prophetic declaration made by the founder of Emmanuel TV, Prophet T.B. Joshua at the beginning of 2020, weeks before news of this novel coronavirus infection began to spread.

Speaking through Emmanuel TV on January 5, 2020, Joshua said, “This year will be a year of HUMILITY. This year, the Lord will humble us with our challenges. Challenges can be affliction… To humble us with these is for those things to destroy us or expose us. Let us move closer to God”.

In the same prophecy, the Nigerian cleric warned of serious economic backlash worldwide and spoke of a sickness surfacing which leaders initially tried to cover.

In his address, Ghebreyesus equally spoke of the dire toll COVID-19 has taken both in terms of life and livelihoods.

“Lives and livelihoods have been lost or upended. Hundreds of millions of people have lost their jobs. Fear and uncertainty abound. The global economy is headed for its sharpest contraction since the Great Depression,” he stated.

“The pandemic has brought out the best – and worst – of humanity: Fortitude and fear; solidarity and suspicion; rapport and recrimination. This contagion exposes the fault lines, inequalities, injustices and contradictions of our modern world. It has highlighted our strengths, and our vulnerabilities,” he further detailed.

Ghebreyesus then welcomed the call for an independent probe into the response to the pandemic saying learning was important.

In related news, the British Physician and former Director at the World Health Organisation, Prof Karol Sikora, said there is a “real chance that the virus will burn out naturally before any vaccine is developed.

Sikora, who spoke via Twitter, added that statistics showed the virus was “petering out by itself.”

This also correlates with TB Joshua’s declaration about COVID-19 from its onset. On April 20th 2020, he declared via Facebook: “Thank God that nature is fighting back; nature is eliminating it in its own way. It is getting to its peak and is coming down. Naturally, it will go the way it came.”
