Buhari, Jonathan, Sambo Attend Anyim Pius Anyim’s Birthday Party

President Muhammadu Buhari and his predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan, on Saturday graced the birthday celebrations of former Senate President, Anyim Pius Anyim.

Anyim’s 61st birthday celebration was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

Buhari, who was represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, was accompanied by aides and other government officials.

Also at the event are former Vice President, Namadi Sambo, former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara and ex-Sokoto state state governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, among others.

Speaking at the event, Jonathan described Anyim as a humble man who did well to serve Nigeria creditably when he was Senate President and SGF.

The former president also stated that Anyim can do better “if given the opportunity” having done well in previous positions.

This newspaper reports that Anyim has declared his intention to contest for the presidency in 2023 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The wedding Fatiha of Yusuf Buhari, the son of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi took place in Kano State today.

The ceremony was attended by President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

Other dignitaries in attendance include former president, Goodluck Jonathan; former vice president, Atiku Abubakar; former Niger president, Mahamadiu Isoufou; Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi; Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni; Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, amongst others.

Osinbajo, Jonathan, Akeredolu, Others Storm Gbenga Daniel Daughter’s Wedding

Dignitaries from across Nigeria on Saturday stormed the wedding of the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s daughter, Kehinde Abioye Daniel and her husband, Adebola Tokunbo Williams.

The wedding ceremony was held at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Prominent Nigerians at the ceremony include Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo; former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience Jonathan.

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and Ekiti State Governor, Dr.Kayode Fayemi also graced the occasion.

Preaching during the holy matrimony, the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, His Eminence, Dr Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu counselled the newly wedded couple to toe the path of God in order to enjoy a successful marriage.
