US Court Slams $50,000 on Blogger for Defaming MFM’s Dr. Olukoya

A Baltimore County Circuit Court in the United States of America presided over by Theresa Adams, has slammed a record $50,000 damages on a US-based Nigerian blogger, Funke Ashekun, for defaming the General Overseer, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr Daniel Olukoya.

A statement on Thursday by Olukoya’s media aide, Collins Edomaruse, said the jury found that the postings of Ashekun defamed the MFM and portrayed its pastors in a false light.

Delivering its judgment in the matter with Case Number: C-03-CV-22-004424, the court returned a unanimous verdict in favour of MFM USA and its three pastors, Grace Ugeh, Kunle Ladipo and Adekunle Adekola.

According to the MFM, Ashekun, who recently relocated to the United States, “has been on social media, spreading all manners of falsehoods against the MFM Church and its General Overseer with the sole purpose of tarnishing and damaging the reputation of the respected man of God and that of his ministry.”

Reacting to the lawsuit filed against her, the YouTuber, in a video she posted to her YouTube channel on November 28, 2023, said MFM and three of its US-based pastors filed a suit against her and accused her of defaming their General Overseer.

“I am now able to confirm to you and to formally do so now that I, Funke Ashekun, have been sued by a church in America. I want you to know I’ve been sued by a church in America. I’m also able to confirm that the name of the church that has taken me to court in America is Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, America.

“I am also able to confirm to you that I don’t know them, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit. Imagine, people that I don’t know are suing me. What an Irony!

“The first one is Adekunle Adekola. He’s a pastor in Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Rockville, Maryland. The second person is Kunle Ladipo. He is also a pastor in Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Bowie, Maryland. And the third person is a woman, I am surprised. She is Grace Ugeh. She is also a pastor in Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries in California; one of their branches.

“Somebody even came from California to sue me in Maryland. These are people I don’t know. I have never been to their church here in America since we relocated. I saw two of them in court recently. But I don’t think I will still recognise them if I meet two of them on the way. I am surprised how a woman will come after me for speaking against sexual assault on women,” she said.

Ashekun added that she was shocked about the lawsuit, stressing that she did not mention the name of any church or pastor in particular in any of her posts.

“I am talking about Pharaohs of our country. People that are supposed to be men of God; that people call men of God and reverence. I am talking about things going on in our churches, that there are sexual abuses going on in our churches. Women are becoming depressed. Some of them are becoming suicidal. They are being sexually molested seriously. And then a woman would come after me and take me to court for talking.

“I, also want to let you know that I, Olufunke Ashekun, am the respondent in this lawsuit in my personal capacity and to the exclusion of no other. These three people, they came after me. In fact, they came with two different lawsuits.

“One thing still shocks me, still baffles me that since I have started this programme, I have never mentioned the name of any church. When I talk about Pharaohs destroying women, destroying men, torturing, oppressing, sexually molesting women, young girls, even in the toilet, in church, inside what is supposed to be a sanctuary of God. Since I’ve started, I’ve never mentioned any church doing that.

“I’ve never mentioned the name of any pastor or any General Overseer. I have been talking about Pharaohs. Pharaoh is a Biblical name. We all know Pharaoh to be an oppressor of God’s children. It is a satirical name that I formed for this programme to pass all my messages because we need to speak out. We can’t keep quiet and allow these people to go on in our society,” she said.

Reacting to the judgment, the MFM lead counsel, Gilbert Garcia, said the “Church was gratified that the jury found in favor and vindicated our position,” according to the statement.

MORE PROBLEMS FOR MAUREEN BADEJO AS AN AUSTRIA COURT PREPARES JUDGEMENT

The end of a matter is always sweet when the truth is revealed. I have always said that darkness cannot overcome the light, Maureen Badejo entered into a battle with the battle axe of God and was hoping to win because she was fed information by ignorant people and rogue pastors who thought they could use her to tannish MFM pastors and the ministry as a whole, but now she is reaping the dividends of all hers GIO TV YOUTUBE AND FACEBOOK MAD DOG DAYS.

 

 

 

The storms that she whipped up for herself carelessly, through her broadcasts on GIO TV are set to become worse with the anticipated judgment of an Austria Court.

 

Maureen Badejo had characteristically made, broadcast, and published highly defamatory statements about Pastor and Mrs. Omowanile, an MFM Pastor in Austria.

 

She chose to ignore a cease-and-desist letter served on her by Lawyers to the Omowanile’s on 11th September 2020 and continued with the defamation of the couple which prompted them to issue and serve her with lawsuit papers in December 2020 which she, again, characteristically ignored.

 

In their bid to obtain legal vindication and bring closure to several months of harrowing emotional distress occasioned them by Maureen’s malicious falsehoods, the Omowanile’s have filed for judgment in the Austrian Court.

 

Expectedly, when the hammer falls, Maureen will take up and play her usual antics of denying service of the court processes but if she walks that path again, she would be reminded that she had in one of her broadcasts attempting to deny service of processes in the Nigeria Case, expressly admitted knowledge of the existence of cases in the UK, USA, and Austria against her.

 

Let the travails of Maureen Badejo serve as a lesson to every blogger and attention seeker that Social Media grandstanding is a far cry from legal realities and that sooner than later the chickens will definitely come home to roost.

Just like I promised to keep the people of God and the entire populace informed with the truth and the current state of things, I am here again to burst yet another Maureen’s bubble of new set of 32 lies told so far about MFM but I will focus on 2 or 3 allegations that has made her the oaf that she is . I believe that after this, most of you watching and listening to her propagating her false stories will need to question the state of her mental health and if you are a follower its high time you thought twice.

Let us check out a scripture before I expose her show of shame of the past few days. John chapter 8 verses 44. “Ye are of your father the devil (Maureen) and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, AND ABODE NOT IN THE TRUTH, BECAUSE THERE IS NO TRUTH IN HIM. WHEN HE SPEAKETH A LIE, HE SPEAKETH OF HIS OWN: FOR HE IS A LIAR AND THE FATHER OF IT” . Maureen is the mother of lies from the pit of hell where her father lives. She alleged in one of her recent live streams that a building called Shiloh has been pulled down because an investigation was launched based on her findings, She alleged that MFM KEEPS VIRGINS IN THE PROPERTY FOR RITUAL PURPOSES.

What a laughable and terrible prejudice, this woman must really think highly of herself, to think that MFM LEADERSHIP AND THE GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA WILL CONDESCEND SO LOW TO LISTEN TO HER BASELESS DISPLAY OF STUPIDITY AND ACT UPON IT, SHOWS THAT SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH HER STATE OF MIND. The only reason I take my time to write and publish these nefarious streams, are for CLARITY and the sake of the young Christians and the gullible viewers who are actually her target in this whole matter.. Some of the core values of MFM as a ministry IS SOUL WINNING, DELIVERANCE, REHABILITATION OF PEOPLE, and SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL SUPPORT TO MANKIND. For these reasons, MFM HAS BUILT OVER 22 FURNISHED BUILDINGS fondly called hostels, that house the needy, destitute, bereaved, widows, orphans, homeless students of universities, and lots more.

Sometime ago, one of these properties, SHILOH, was noticed to have a defect in structure. As a matter of fact, it was sinking, and the state Government was invited for a thorough evaluation (THE LAGOS STATE GOVERNMENT BUILDING TASK FORCE ) of which they gave a report that the building be knocked down. (The new building ) In order to make provisions for the OCCUPANTS that lived in it, the MFM authorities built another structure and relocated the occupants before knocking the building down, AND THE NEW ONE WAS COMPLETED SOMETIME IN SEPTEMBER.

These occupants are widows, male students, families that are in distress and many more, but not VIRGINS like Marine Maureen claimed, neither was the place investigated and pulled down because of her nonsense and empty allegations that have no bearing.

Her second show of shame was a video she played in her stream of a fracas that took place during a political gathering in South America in 2018 where there were Gunshots and serious commotions, SHE CLAIMED THAT THIS HAD TAKEN PLACE IN ONE OF THE MFM BRANCHES IN THE UK. Without further ado, I would like to ask this woman of no self-value and proper understanding, one that obviously needs psychological treatment and mental evaluation these salient questions;

1. Which MFM branch in the UK holds services under an open roof as the video suggests?

2. How come people in the video are not predominantly Africans like you see in typical mfm gathering?

3. How come the people there are mainly South American and not Caucasians?

4. How come the church service has no women and children in the gathering taking cover?

5. How come there was no MFM LOGO present in the hall rather it was another logo entirely?

6. How come we didn’t hear of this DISRUPTED CHURCH gathering in the UK all these while?.

If indeed it transpired in the UK, because if this had happened as you CLAIMED , it would have made headline news AND THE UK POLICE WOULD HAVE MADE ARREST don’t you think?.

(CAN THIS BE MFM LOGO) Simply put, this is not an MFM GATHERING, NEVER WAS, and that event didn’t even happen in the UK but in her usual manipulative way to sway her followers and viewers she displayed HER IGNORANCE AND FOOLISHNESS by putting up this nonsense.

The one that actually got to me in all of her shenanigans WAS WHEN SHE HOSTED THE PICTURE OF THE DEAD on her live stream and lied!!! That the man’s death was related to MFM, and started allegations and accusations on DR DK OLUKOYA UNTIL THE SON OF THE LATE MAN CALLED IN LATER ON THE SHOW and told her to pull her father’s picture down and that his death had nothing to do with MFM. Instead of Maureen to repent and apologize, she acted like she had done nothing wrong and remorselessly continued with her slanders and inhumane activities.

I have drawn my conclusions that this woman needs mental evaluation and has serious issues and I would advise her friends and followers to ask her to seek counsel before its too late. Furthermore, I will leave Maureen and her follower with these 2 scripture one for Maureen -Proverbs 19:5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape. (Tears will not help you now) and Exodus 23 for her followers- Thou shalt not raise a false report: put not thine hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness.

I am ready to shade out all Maureen’s lies; as far as this matter is concerned we will update you with the facts and true picture of these satanic allegations as we continue with our investigation.

Dr. D.K Olukoya: Blackmailing Maureen Badejo Failing Before Beginning By FEMI OYEWOLE

This is surely not the best of times for Maureen Badejo who has consistently fabricated lies against Dr. D.K Olukoya led Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries. Just like we have been updating you from the beginning, with our scrupulous investigation and ear to the ground on MUAREEN BADEJO’s issues with MFM ministries and the General overseer, Dr. D.K. Olukoya, on her Social media escapades, all her gimmicks, lies, fabrications, drama’s to gain followers and make money from her live streams are finally grooming to an unpleasant end.

Continuing with her lies for a few days now, she has stated that she had won the case filed against her by MFM on some of her latest YouTube and Facebook streams, but like you know her as the mother of lies and deceit, she is nowhere close to that. As a matter of fact, we believe her troubles are just about to start.

Maureen took more than she can chew this time, and we will advise that those of you donating money to her course should wise up and see her for the scammer that she truly is. Maureen Badejo has since August 20, 2020 been consistently broadcasting video programs maligning Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and her General Overseer – Dr. Olukoya.

Rather than be provoked, the Man of God and the Church have been patiently engaging her legally while she has always boasted that she could only be sued in the UK. We have very reliable scoop that after protracted efforts at pre-action engagement by the Church’s Solicitors in London were scorned by Maureen, she has finally gotten what she had been screaming for – A LEGAL ACTION IN THE UK!.

Although ALL THE LEGAL PAPERS WERE SERVED TO HER IN GOOD TIME as confirmed by the court, Maureen has FILED HER FIRST STATEMENT IN THE CASE BEFORE THE QUEEN’S BENCH DIVISION OF THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE IN LONDON, in which SHE CLAIMED SHE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME AND COULD NOT GET A LAWYER TO HELP HER. This is someone claiming to have won a case!

Based on the need to give her a fair opportunity to engage a counsel, THE JUDGE ADJOURNED THE CASE TO A LATER DATE. MFM and Dr. Olukoya, by taking the matter to court have not only shown THAT THEY HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE but have also afforded Maureen Badejo an opportunity to either prove all her scandalous statements against the Church and the Man of God or face the legal consequences of Social Media grand standing.

Meanwhile, three other suits are pending against her in Austria by Pastor Kayode whom she claimed committed Fraud in the United States, Violation of Logo, an authorized usage of the Trademark and Copyright materials and in Nigeria for Libel. We will keep you informed of developments as they occur.
