Why I don’t want Sunday Igboho to be released – Seriki Fulani

Seriki Fulani in Ibarapaland, Alhaji Saliu Abdulkadir, who was evicted from his Igangan residence this day last year says the daring nature of Sunday Adeyemo, a Yoruba youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, is why he is opposed to his release.

The evicted Sarkin Fulani who has relocated to Ilorin, Kwara State since the incident while speaking on the earlier quit notice issued by Igboho prior to his eviction, explained that he did not handle the eviction notice with levity. According to him, he got assurance from the Oyo state government after the quit notice but he was surprised that Igboho carried out his threat without anybody challenging him.

He told Daily Trust in a report published on Saturday: “For those seven days, the state government sent 14 police officers to us and they were guiding us but the police officers were overpowered by Sunday Igboho’s men. This is why I don’t support the call for the release of Igboho.

“I am sure he must be regretting his actions now. Any Nigerian can live in any part of the country and I have always said that there are criminals everywhere. There are criminals among Yoruba just like we have among the Fulani people. This is where we expected the government to come in and fish out those who are criminally minded.”

Abdulkadir said one year later, he still hoped that justice would be served and he would be compensated for the properties lost during the crisis.

Igboho is currently being detained in a prison facility in the Republic of Benin, after he was arrested with Ropo, his wife, at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, while on his way to Germany in July 2021. He had been declared wanted by Nigerian authorities for his separatist activities.

Igboho’s wife has since been released.

Leaked Audio: How We Used Igboho’s Weaknesses To Attack His Residence – Unknown DSS Official

A leaked audio online has revealed how unidentified operatives of the Department of State Services disclosed that the residence of Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho was invaded in July because he had given a hint while speaking carelessly.
The secret police officer who was believed to be on a call, also claimed that the arrogance and ignorance of the agitator were used against him.

According to the audio obtained by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, an ally of Igboho who knew him well was the informant used by the DSS operatives who invaded his residence.

Recall that operatives of the DSS invaded the residence of Igboho in Soka, Ibadan, killing two people and arresting twelve others.

The male voice in the audio noted that the unconscious statements of Igboho gotten from his close ally helped the DSS to raid his residence.

The tape was recorded in the Yoruba language with some use of the English language.

The voice said, “If you used to follow the things he said, he asked us to come at midnight. He didn’t know that God has also empowered the government.

“He boasted that if we came to his house with 1,000 personnel, hardly would we see 100 that would return. But, he said we shouldn’t come at midnight, and that was why we decided to invade at midnight.

“You know, God likes Igboho, his weakness is that he talks too much. And it is through words that powerful people are caught and ensnared.

“A Yoruba adage says ‘a talkative talks but with no sense’. The man called Igboho talks too much. He has a good plan and ambition, but he talks carelessly. And, his careless talk has ruined his ambition. That was why he fell victim.”

He further said, “Another thing is that his ignorance and arrogance ruined him.”

BREAKING: How Igboho Received N127m, Disbursed Millions To Suspected Boko Haram

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami, SAN, has accused Yoruba nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, of transferring millions of naira to a suspected terrorist financier.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Malami alleged that Igboho received huge funding from unnamed sources to destabilize the country.

Citing a Federal Government investigative report, the AGF said Igboho, through his registered company, Adesun International Concept Limited, received financial inflows in millions and gave out millions to “Abbal Bako & Sons and its promoter Abdullahi Umar Usman”, who according him are indicted for terrorism financing.

“The major financier of the fugitive and separatists was found to be a Federal Law Maker in the National Assembly. A total sum of ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN MILLION, ONE AND FORTY-FIVE THOUSAND NAIRA ONLY (N127, 145,000.00) wasreceived by Igboho from his financiers between 22nd October, 2013 and 28th September, 2020 through Adesun International Concept Ltd accounts.

“A total sum of TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-THREE MILLION, ONE HUNDRED AND NINETY-EIGHT THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED NAIRA ONLY (N273,198,200.00) transaction outflows was recorded from Sunday Igboho’s account between 15th March, 2013 and 11 the March, 2021.

“Investigation reveals that Adesun International Concept Ltd (belonging to Igboho) transferred the sum of twelve million seven hundred and fifty thousand naira (N12, 750,000) to Abbal Bako & Sons.

“It might be recalled that Abbal Bako & Sons and its promoter Abdullahi Umar Usman are suspects in the on-going Joint Terrorist Financing Investigation. Abdullahi Umar Usman is by way of financial transaction connected to SURAJO ABUBAKAR MUHAMMAD (who was sentenced to life imprisonment in UAE on charges of financing terrorism [Boko Haram]).

‘This report shows the nexus between separatists’ agitation, terrorism financing and disruptions of peace in the country.

“The report found connections of financial transaction between Adesun International Concept Ltd (belonging to Igboho) and some construction companies and businesses among others,” he said.

Igboho is in Benin Republic where he is facing extradition proceedings.

His lawyers had denied any wrong doing prior and after the invasion of Igboho’s residence in June by operatives of the Department of State Services.

‘Sunday Igboho Poisoned In Prison’ – Olunloyo Alleges

Controversial Nigerian journalist, Kemi Olunloyo has alleged that Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has been poisoned in the Benin Prision.

Olunloyo made this claim in a post on her Twitter account on Monday.

“His kidney function is deteriorating and Yoruba Nation is silent. Where is the cash donated for him? Cotonou authorities need to be questioned on what he consumed. He had a healthy kidney before arrest. #Kemitalks.”

This is coming days after one of the agitator’s legal counsel, Yomi Aliyu confirmed that Igboho is critically ill and has been rushed to the hospital.

Naija News reports that Aliyu while interacting with BBC Yoruba earlier, alleged that the rights activist developed the illness in Benin Republic prison custody.

According to him, the agitator has also been critically ill and rushed to the hospital for treatment. The lawyer raised an alarm that Igboho is in dire need of medical treatment.

We Used Our Spiritual Powers To Send Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igboho To Jail – Miyetti Allah Brags

We Used Our Spiritual Powers To Send Nnamdi Kanu, Sunday Igboho To Jail – Miyetti Allah Brags

The National Secretary, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Saleh Alhassan, has said the group used it’s spiritual powers to send Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho to jail.
IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu and Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, who were vocal against the activities of Fulani Herdsmen are currently languishing in detention in Nigeria and Benin Republic respectively.

Speaking to the SUN on what Miyetti Allah is doing to ensure their members do not run foul of the Anti-Open Grazing Law, which is spreading in the southern part of the country, Alhassan stated that the group is deploying various strategies.

The Fulani herdsman listed such strategies to include legal actions, lobbying the national assembly, dialoguing with governors and deploying spiritual means.

He said: “We are taking a number of actions as regards this development. Number one, we are taking legal action against the states both at local court and international court. We are equally applying political and spiritual solutions.

“We are already lobbying the National Assembly and the executive arm of the government to stop the governors. The National Assembly should perform its constitutional responsibility of protecting every citizen of this country, including the herdsmen and their business of herding.

“We are equally lobbying the executive arm of government to do the needful by creating options for the herders through budgetary allocations, creation of ministry for livestock and fishery. The National Assembly should pass the bill that has been there, lying fallow; these are the political options we are taking.

“And then, we are sending a very strong negotiating team to some of these governors because they may have been ill-informed about the security situations in their states. Let them look at the realities. There is no any space that cannot be governed in this country with GPR technology.

“We are equally exploring spiritual option that is why Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho are in jail while those sponsoring them are there in the hospital.”

Fire Gut Sunday Igboho’s House

A midnight fire on Tuesday morning gutted some parts of the house of a popular Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Adeyemo, well known as Sunday Igboho, The PUNCH has learnt.

The fire reportedly started around 3am in the apartment located in the Soka area of Oyo State.

The source of the fire was unknown as of the time of filing this report but it was gathered that fire fighters from the Oyo State Fire Service arrived at the scene a few hours after to douse the fire.

No statement has been obtained from Sunday Igboho on the incident.

Igboho, who is the Akoni Oodua of Yoruba land, had asked herdsmen in Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave within seven days.

At the expiration of the ultimatum last week, he and his followers had stormed the Fulani settlement in the ancient town to eject Seriki Fulani, Salihu Abdukadir, and herdsmen accused of perpetrating crimes ranging from kidnappings, killings, rape to invasion of farmlands with their cattle.

Some houses and property in the settlement of the Fulanis were torched last week.
